[ Cris has no memory. They find a strange sense of familiarity in a stranger locale. Nothing is actively trying to destroy them, and even the meekest iota of comfort eludes them. There's nothing like a world you don't know, clothes that isn't yours, and a face that's purely vestigial to make you feel like a nothing, a nowhere, no-idea. Is this ego death? What could have possibly killed it? This isn't fair at all. ]
[ Two shooting stars fall, tailed by a fleeting sense of serendipity. ]
[ The pain they feel throughout their body could be explained by a similar fall. That would be obscenely convenient, but it'd at least balance out their current predicament in terms of how pleasant a thing can be. They set out for the impact crater as if it were an old friend they've spotted among a crowd, hoping to catch up with them before they slip away into the current, lost again.
