There is no doubt of the capacity of Survibers to transport you back to different eras and this song has an intro that is like the opening of a Stargate portal taking you right back into the early 80s jazz funk scene . With lush chords and sparkly twinkly bits all wrapped in chunky padded shoulder like baselines. Add some massive Syn ( Linn ) drum fills and your on your way. With vocals that oooze out and rise above the music like a freshly whipped bowl of Angels Delight with a beautifully confident, 80s nonchalant attitude the middle 8 is blissfully harmonious. However for me the best bit is they even have the Studio 54 disco double hand claps.

Survibers Voices Of Jericho is a spaced out jazz and latin requiem mass with overtones of 90s Nubian Tongues. The track has those immaculate chilled haunting latin vocals inspired by the Da Vinci code waiting to be deciphered. This is all done over a cauldron of Jaco Pastorius like flavoured bass runs mixed with trip hop style beats. If l were to describe this song succinctly it would be like the main track of the night if the Starship Enterprise turned up at an interplanetary hip hop gig.

UK based SURVIBERS is a collective of like-minded creatives who live, love and work within music, yet they have found it necessary to create a space where raw and fertile ideas are allowed to flourish.

The trio are ex Berklee students Francis and Katrina King-Smith and Aniff Akinola.The Survibers sonic canvas can be described as 'a socialist/left leaning blend of vocally hedonistic space invading trance-like musings welded to 'trip hop' beats interspersed with galactic jazz.

Since their debut in March 2020, Surviber's have been aired on twelve radio stations around the world. Their tracks have been added to over 20 Spotify playlists including the Vibing to Upcoming Artists playlist. More recently their single "In Heaven" was reviewed by Neil March at Demerara Records. - "Survibers describe most of their tracks as Electronic so I have reviewed them in that section although really the striking melody and equally striking female vocal in the track In Heaven place it more in Cinematic Pop territory. Imagine Bat For Lashes in a mash with Regina Spektor but remixed by Floating Points and you might get somewhere close to the vibe of this track. It is imaginative, slightly otherworldly and instantly likeable."
