On this all-night show, host Gerry Hatch took calls from listeners and asked them for a place. I didn't speak directly to the callers.  I simply made up a song about the places they suggested, with music created on-the-spot by improvisational pianist John Jacobson.

WBAI Late Night Adult Call-In Radio

Here are three songs I improvised with pianist Marty Henne on Dale Connelly's Morning show in Minnesota.  Adults called in with suggestions for songs about their kids, computers, and much more.  
In a thank you letter about that show, Dale wrote:
"...I've heard from listeners who think it was the most remarkable half hour of radio they've heard in a long time. You and Marty do what radio was meant to do. You communicate with listeners directly and you use your skill and creativity to lift them up a bit. I think this is what we're all trying to do in public radio."

KSJN Radio Show

KIDS AMERICA: a nationally distributed Monday to Friday live radio show for kids 6 -12, produced by Keith Talbot for WNYC/ New York Public Radio and distributed nationally by American Public Radio (Now called American Public Media) 

On this sample, I  sing songs on-the-spot for kids and about kids, based on their suggestions, The  music  is created spontaneously by jazz pianist, composer, educator and author Armen Donelian.

The show received The 1984 George Foster Peabody Award, The  1984-85 Action for Children's Television Award, The 1986 Parents' Choice Award and  The 1986 Corporation for Public Broadcasting Award and a National Association Award for the Advancement of Learning Through Broadcasting.

In PLAY BY PLAY™ workshops: artists, teachers and students engage in computational thinking exercises to automatically create and perform original songs and musical stories about any STEM subject, any topic or any issue. 
As an Instructional Designer, Susan has written curriculum-based books, scripts, songs and/or activities for Sesame Workshop, Disney, Nickelodeon, Jim Henson’s Muppets, and Warner Brothers’ Looney Tunes. Her syndicated music segments on WNYC for Kids America were distributed by American Public Radio. Her non-fiction interviews and articles have appeared in Money Mag., Sports Illustrated for Kids and Edtech Digest, where she is currently a contributing editor. 
Teaching Artist credits include workshops at Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA., Anderson University,IN; American Stage Theatre, St. Petersburg FL., Boys & Girls Harbor, Harlem, NY, Salvage Vanguard Theater, Austin, TX., ASPVA, Austin, TX..and Odo Sound, Austin, TX.
