Susan Kane’s fourth CD, Mostly Fine was recorded this one locally at Fred Gillen Jr’s. Woody’s House studio in Croton, NY. Vocals were recorded with a vintage Neumann M49 microphone (you’ve seen iconic pictures of it with artists such as Bob Dylan and Miles Davis). Producer and bass player Jeff Eyrich assembled a cast of amazing musicians to contribute their magic to the ten tracks on this disc. Players include Abbie Gardner (Red Molly), Peter Calo, the Levins, Lisa Gutkin (Klezmatics) and David Bernz. This one’s a little different from her prior albums, it’s pretty acoustic, there’s hardly any electric guitar. It’s filled with dobro, fiddle, mandolin, accordion, and lap steel, with a sprinkling of banjo layered over acoustic guitars. Mixing was done by Steve Rossiter at Axis Sound, and the final audio shine applied by Scott Hull of Masterdisk. 
There are seven original songs (including a co-write with Fred and an adaptation of a poem) and three covers. The title originates from a lyric in one song and it’s not meant to be negative. If well into adulthood you can honestly say that everything is “mostly fine,” that is…really fine!
