This is a demo I recorded with Jack Nunn on Piano of a song I wrote for the London Song Company's songwriter's course back in October. The song was inspired two lines of  the anonymous poem 'Do not stand at my grave and weep.'

Over Christmas I was invited to go in and perform two tracks on Radio Croydon as part of the Happy Sundays Alternative Christmas show special. I performed my track ‘Demons’ and my cover of ‘White Christmas.’

This song is inspired by the poem of the same title 'Still I Rise' by Maya Angelou.  This is a working demo version of the song  pre recording it professionally.

This song was inspired by the ongoing refugee crisis and the book 'What is the What' by David Eggers, about a Sudanese child Refugee, who moved to America under the Lost Boys of Sudan program . I wrote this shortly before visiting the Calais Jungle in 2016.
