Anjunabeats Volume 14 is the latest chapter in a story spanning many years, each mix an epochal statement piece rewarding those who listen closely with an incisive take on the sounds that will define Anjuna dancefloors this year.

Above & Beyond's two label imprints, Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, continued to grow in stature and scale at a rate that continues to defy expectations.

Joining the dots between the intimate sound of Anjunadeep and the stadium-sized productions found on Anjunabeats, Volume 14 once sees Above & Beyond craft a mesmerising journey through forward-thinking electronic music. Firmly established as a bedrock of the progressive and melodic techno sound, Anjunadeep has scaled new heights in the past 12 months with support coming from acts as disparate as UK techno baron Dave Clarke, Laurent Garnier, Eric Prydz, Groove Armada’s Andy Cato and stadium-filler Deadmau5 – the latter commenting on Michael Cassette’s Anjunadeep anthem ‘Ghost In The Machine’: “I haven’t felt this good listening to a piece of music since Eric Prydz’s ‘Melo’ -10/10”. 

Showcasing the full spectrum of the label’s diverse sounds, Anjunadeep 03 is the latest annual label collection and features 29 largely unreleased tracks that range from deep, dark and hypnotic techno sounds to upbeat, uplifting electronic house grooves.

Beginning on the lush techno of Stephen J Kroos’ ‘Micrsh’ and the beautifully brooding deep house chasms of Martin Roth’s ‘Deep Style’, Anjunadeep A&R James Grant’s CD1 mix continues to build through melodic techno and progressive textures with tracks and remixes from Underworld, Spooky, Michael Cassette, Andrew Bayer and promising newcomer, Soundprank.

On the second disc, Anjunadeep mainstay Jaytech shows off a slightly more upbeat and uplifting electronic house sound that touches on nu disco, electro and more classic house grooves and includes Jaytech’s own forthcoming anthem ‘Djembe’, as well as deep audio offerings from Solarity, Dinka, PROFF, Interplay and Maor Levi. 

To celebrate the release of this flagship release, Anjunadeep is holding a brace of transatlantic launch parties. The first will take place at the world-famous Ministry of Sound on Friday 4th February, where Jaytech and James Grant will be perform a 4 hour back2back set for The Gallery.

CD1-14. Boom Jinx & Andrew Bayer - By All Means (Solarity Remix)

Vladimir ‘PROFF’ Ershov may come from one of the most bitingly cold parts of the globe but judging by the feel of his music his heart clearly belongs to warmer climes and his second EP to hit Anjunadeep has all of the sun-touched vibes that we have already come to know and love.

Picking up from where ‘My Personal Summer/Aguilas’ left off is the Original Mix of ‘Deep Orange’, which pays homage to that glowing ball of fire in the sky with its abundance of darting, infectious melodies, airy interludes and gentle, carefree feel. Countryman Vadim Soloviev then gives it a tweak, welding the melodies with a scratchy, ripping synth and whirring bassline to put a punchier, grubbier spin on things. And as if that wasn’t enough, putting the cherry on top is ‘Glittering Puzzle’; one of the trancier outtakes from the recent Anjunadeep: 01 compilation, it centres on a swirling, Balearic-inspired breakdown that almost singlehandedly sweeps you up and drops you on a sandy beach, providing a fitting conclusion to a release that you can almost feel the warmth radiating from!

Relatively new to the EDM front, the multinational Suspect 44 have recently been taking massive strides to stardom since their debut on the legendary Anjunadeep label with their monster hits "Japanese Schoolgirls" and "Neon Feel.” Despite being located in two separate countries across the globe (The United States and The Netherlands), Luke Shipstad and Zhiar Mahmoud have been writing music together for years. Their hit release on the powerhouse Armada Trice label, "Amazing", not only reached the #1 spot on the Beatport Top 100 and then remained in the top 10 for over a month, but showed the promise Suspect 44 really holds. 2015 proved to be no different, kicking off the year with a top 10 track, “I Feel It” in the Progressive House charts. 2015 closed with their progressive hit “Here Right Now,” which was supported by Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Nicky Romero, The Chainsmokers, and many others. Unbound by genre lines, Suspect 44 now aims to bring together the wildly catchy vibes from pop genres and lush melodies of Progressive House; the result to say the least is powerful, unique and fresh.
