Detroit Techno is about to go overground one more time thanks to ‘Blackwater’ from Motor City electronica heroes Octave One. Their mix of DJ Rolando AKA The Aztec Mystic ‘Jaguar’ became the most hyped up floorfiller of the millennium, starting life as an underground secret and becoming the soundtrack to Radio 1 for the summer. While the overground lapped up the tune, the underground was getting into another Detroit cool as can be instrumental with a nagging hook. ‘Blackwater’.

Imports have been steadily fueling demand and the track is now spilling over from techno clubs and causing mayhem in mainstream venues. What was an instant classic has been propelled into the stratosphere thanks to a song and vocal being added by Ann Saunderson (Inner City and The Reese Project).

The result is one of the finest moments ever to come from Detroit’s techno scene. A soundtrack for a hot summer and beyond. Mixes from Octave 1, Kevin Saunderson and Kaotic Special Rhythms.
