This song was a collaboration between myself and a friend from FB - Catholyntje Romeijn Winkel. She wrote a beautiful poem called 'Be Still' and I was so moved by it that I asked her if I could put music to it.

She agreed! That was many years ago in 2012. I finally finished the song this week and would love to share this collaboration with you.

Be Still - S.Vaartstra & Catholyntje Romeijn Winkel 2019

This is a song close to my heart about forgiveness and letting go of the pain and the past. And about the freedom that comes from being obedient to God's Word.
In order to be free to continue on in our journey of faith, it's vital that we learn to forgive one another when we have been wronged or hurt (even when it doesn't seem possible) and move forward into God's plans rather than sitting in bitterness or letting resentment take a hold of our hearts.  Jesus can bare any burden you bring to Him and offer you rest and peace and joy!

Got To Let It Go

The Song is called "How Far I've Come" and speaks to taking time to stop the journey of life for a moment and reflect on all that has taken place and how far God has brought me. He is a good, good Father and he has never left my side, even when I couldn't feel Him near.

How Far I've Come

Was spending some time at the piano in worship and came up with a chill arrangement of "This is Amazing Grace". Hit record on my handheld recorder and captured what came out of my heart.

This arrangement of Rain Down (words & music by Martin Smith & Stuart Garrard) came to me almost a year ago...and last week I was inspired to finally record it and share it. Such a beautiful, moving song and prayer so hopefully I have captured the heart of the song in this (basically live) recording.
