One day I was discussing the idea of creating a curated mix for certain activities or a certain person, and someone contacted me asking for a personalized mix to go running to!  As such, this set is based primarily on their song suggestions, with a few tweaks here and there. This is certainly a "long mix"; there are a number of full songs included, and as the set was designed to emulate someone going on a run, you'll notice there are a few obvious "pick up the pace" bpm shifts. In order to include as many of their songs as I could, there are a few layers with iffy keys, but overall I think they worked out and don't take away too much from the mix I hope this mix can help them keep on running towards their goals, and I hope that you enjoy it as well!

Opening set for ANI季 Season 5. I wanted this set to be the bridge for both the Japanese audience starting their night, as well as something for the party people who stayed up too late on Friday to enjoy. Typically I go really hard for ANI季 sets, but this time I wanted to avoid anything too fast, focusing instead conveying the space in-between; dawn and dusk,  joy and nostalgia, winter and spring, and all the while functioning as an enjoyable opening set for everyone, regardless of time zone. Premiered on April 30, 2022. As the name of the event implies, the theme was Anison from shows airing in 2007 or earlier. There were so many great songs to choose from! Luckily, all the other DJs in the event chose songs I wanted to include but didn't, so I was very happy. I leaned pretty heavily on the 90s/00s side of things this time around.

I had a lot of difficulty in choosing a theme and style for this one; I wanted to make sure to include some of my old favorites, but at the same time focus on remixes of older songs to keep things fresh. I also wanted to avoid using some of the songs and transitions I had for pure anime songs in older sets such as Anison Hijack 14, Bright Light Night, and Anime...IN SPACE (even though I really liked them!). As such, you'll notice a number of tone and genre shifts, but all in all I think this one turned out pretty well both musically and thematically. My favorite transitional layers this time were Sailor Moon x My Will and SHANGRI-LA x GET IT BY YOUR HANDS. I hope you enjoy!

AniCour! was incredibly fun to both plan and participate in! With all the untz and remix events that Hijack organizes, I really wanted to have a pure anison night. For me at least, anime songs were the origin of of everything, and the combination of music and emotions based on shows really give a lot of opportunities for expression. Since I was closing out the event, I wanted to take the opportunity to play some songs that are really close to me and that I never really get to play in other events, in part due to the emotion behind them. The Strawberry Panic OP I've actually been trying to have in a set for years! It was really great to have the chance to make a set like this, and I'm really thankful for all the guests that joined in as well. A super special thanks to Bakkun's visual alchemy; long story short I'm very bad with computers and Bakkun saved the day through literal magic. Speaking of Super Special, Pure Enough x Super Special was my favorite mashup this time around. I hope you enjoy!

As a note, this set got swarmed by bots starting on 6/10/22. I was manually blocking and reporting them, which was very time consuming, but they kept multiplying. Thus, I removed it and re-uploaded it hoping it would stop. Soundcloud please do something about the bot menace.

As 2021 has only just begun, I wanted to create something to set the mood for the year to come, no matter what that may be. I had a lot of fun with the mashups this time around; the bpm adjustments for the entire Oedo Stompin' section into Sengoku Hop was probably the most difficult part. I couldn't decide between the two tomatoism tracks to use for the drops, so I ended up using both! Favorite mashup this time was Passion x Pipo Password (I wonder what would be a better name for it; Pipo Passion or Passion Password?). Thanks for listening and I hope you enjoy!
