" shy shy " was created as a live recording session. It was supposed to be a minimalist techno track. As always, I found it difficult to follow through with the planned concept. When triggering the synth, the track now has more feeling than planned. wish you all the best

Today, breath-taking post-classical artist Poppy Ackroyd shares her brand new single ‘The Calm Before’ taken from her first full-length album with One Little Indian Records, Resolve – out early 2018. A classically trained pianist, violinist, producer, and composer, Ackroyd turned heads in the neo-classical world with her previous works Escapement and Feathers, as well as her involvement in Hidden Orchestra (Tru Thoughts).

Having played alongside giants of the genre, Hauschka and Nils Frahm, the unique musician has returned, newly signed to Bjork’s label One Little Indian Records, fresh off the back of a mini-album Sketches, and set to release her brand new self-produced full-length record - her most ambitious and progressive piece of work to date.

Following the release of his debut record “A Louder Silence” last October on Late Night Lates, Leifur James returns with his new single ‘Wurlitzer’ ahead of a run of dates including a headline show at The Southbank Centre in late March.

Leifur’s debut fused ambient electronica, jazz, classical and soul music, a recording process which was over a 2 year period. ‘Wurlitzer’ is the first piece of music he reveals from a new creative period after those sessions.

“’Wurlitzer’ was kind of a break away from the ambience of the album.” says Leifur. “I was wanting to corrupt the mood of the album with something a bit intense and destructive. I guess there was an unusual balance there for creating something new but in a bit of a destructive mind-set.” 

“I’d been staying at my dad’s in the winter months, he lives in the middle of a rural pre historic stone circle, its quite an intense place in winter. I was playing on the old upright wurlitzer piano there and the wind was shaking the house, I could hear it aggressively whistling in the chimney. The contrast of the wind with the piano was interesting and gave me the idea.” 

The video was created by animator/director Balázs Simon. “We spoke about the video and this balance of creation and destruction in the music. The theme for the video being the duality of creation; creation and destruction and the cross over point between those.” The result is ravishing 4 minutes of piano-fused electronica haunted by ecological currents.

Sven Brede works since 1994 as a producer in the most different music directions. In 1998 he worked with the music publisher DNA and published on own labels Bliss, Kamchatka, Free Music and DNS-Connected. Furthermore followed publications on worldwide famous labels.

In 2006 sven released on Highgrade Records and published to 2009 various singles and worked on numerous Compilations with.

In projects and working together with Georg Kranz, Harold Faltermeyer (Miami Burns) as well as Wayne there Skippa/Bodycount NY, as well as by the most different Remixarbeiten, among the rest, Rammstein (I want), if Sven Brede could develop his today's professional approach.
