After the global success of their first EP of 2016, ‘On’, including remixes by Techno legend Paco Osuna and Chloé, Monkey Safari is the name on everyone’s lips, and summer lineups. Now they’re out with their follow-up EP entitled ‘Bernstein’ with two original tracks and remixes by none other than John Digweed & Nick Muir as well as Spanish DJ and producer UNER. This release showcases the German brothers’ darker side, combining deep trance-like rhythms with resonant sounds. At the same time, the release pulls you in with dreamy, head-in-the-clouds melodies, perfect for both sunrise and deep club sets alike.  

This release demonstrates Sven and Lars’ move into the limitless domain of the “experimental” since the launch of their new label ‘Hommage.’ As their career grows and transforms, it becomes more and more clear that they have found a medium in which to display their differing genre preferences and production styles. Monkey Safari is demanding the attention of industry heavyweights as evident by their 2015 collaborations with artists like Guy Gerber, Kölsch, Marc Houle, Wolf + Lamb, Josh Wink, as well as one of dance music’s most iconic producers, Moby. In 2016 the evidence of Monkey Safari’s growing allure is made clear by the two otherworldly remixes released on the ‘Bernstein’ EP. John Digweed & Nick Muir’s remix of ‘Plexus,’ brings in a more soulful, synthy take on the original. In UNER’s remix of ‘Bernstein,’ the Spanish producer’s musical training radiates through, making it a sure-fire hit this summer.

The first track on the EP comes with courtesy of Human Machine, a musical project comprised of four Sicilian DJs and friends. ‘Africa’ features slow building layers of synth chords over a strolling bassline, for a straight up track that fits perfectly into the Diynamic sound.

People get very excited when a new Robert Babicz production lands, and when the music sounds like this, its no wonder why...

Roberts first release on his own imprint for a while packs a mighty punch and ticks all of the boxes, so lets get to the music.

'Stimulate' is a beautiful melancholic slab of musical deepness, showing Roberts emotional side, and even packs a saxophone in there, giving the track a sultry feel. Tasty!

Next up is 'Unity Of Kissing' and pulls at the heartstrings with its impassioned heartfelt depth, while remaining a dance floor moment.

'Mindset' is a hypnotic workout with its subtleties bringing its strength. An elegant breakdown follows full of warmth.

The final original track is 'Seeking For The Horizon'. Analog deepness with mysterious layers is the way forward here. Giving the package a cool musical balance and twist.

Jerome Isma-Ae & Alastor remix 'Stimulate' and take us firmly to peak time melodic mayhem, as this punchy number works its magic!

And rounding off this fine release, another remix of 'Stimulate', this time Tvardovsky & Alex Kaspersky take us deep and deadly, with hypnotic overtones and cool growls, while cascading melodics integrate superbly.

Kellerkind steps up to the plate with Subzero, a slice of cavernous dub tech. Breathy vocals and sparse ethereal elements set a dreamy mood. Underlined by smooth piano chords, the vocal develops into a full fledged hymn that is both emotive and mesmerising. For his second take, the Swiss producer embarks on a techno tinged journey. Opting for distorted synths and a stomping bassline, he aptly crafts a near dungeon-like atmosphere only sweetened by a lush female vocal. Teaming up with Sven, they offer up Shakti Pan, a meeting point between tribal infused percussion and deep-set riffs. Hollowed out drums and bells chimes touch on chorus vocals and manage to create a highly immersive experience, rounding off the release on an uplifting note.

WEITER kicks off 2017 with a brand new EP by dutch DJ and producer duo Formel. Last year they released some great tracks on WEITER, including the beautiful remix from Marc Holstege’s track 'Moderat'.

With releases on labels like Traum, Einmusika Recordings and Submarine Vibes, it’s obvious that they are doing great things in the studio. We are very proud to have Formel on board again with a solid, diverse three tracker EP. 

The sound of Formel can be described as a journey through a deep and colorful palette with a wide and varied worldly feel. Organic and melodic with a perfectly fitting balance between dancing and listening, something you definitely hear when playing the following tracks. 

Cabrican, is a true melodic dance floor anthem. Starting with a solid bassline combined with a very hypnotic lead, the track is flowing towards a huge break. Eyes closed, arms in the air, Cabrican will take the crowd to a next level. It’s a great example of mood uplifting electronic music, with a very euphoric touch. Craziness guaranteed with this one. 

Arca can be best described as a dark, melodic trip into the universe. Spacy soundscapes are blending together with the typical Formel hypnotic synths and steady drums, and will guide the listener through the galaxy and back to planet earth. 

Baigno touches the euphoric side of Cabrican, but also the hypnotizing atmosphere of Arca. Again, you feel a certain tension that builds up throughout the track. Dark and melancholic sounds, combined with the warm melodies on top. Best of both worlds.
