At the time of writing (2021) this is the only new thing I've come up in five years or maybe even longer. That's partly because I've not been trying to write anything while I was learning to play the piano properly or just get on with life. It was in a moment of distraction away from my practice that I hit upon the foundation of the tune, which I then mashed up with an oddly-timed progression that had been kicking about for years.

Written in Reason using all in-built sounds (as far as I can remember).

The name comes from facilities on some steep rural roads where there is a giant sandpit for lorries to crash into if they need to. I just liked the phrase. It brings back fond memories of scenic drives from Inverness to Thurso.
