SDK launched onto the scene earlier this year with the release of their first project - What They Want. With a sumptuous blend of heady melodies and signature vocal hooks, the Vancouver-based duo’s debut on TOR rested perfectly at the centerpoint of underground and familiar. As we step into winter’s grasp, we’ve revisited the project with a revamped touch from two of the scene’s finest; we present What They Want (The Remixes).

Armen Miran is a vital pillar of the deep & melodic scene. With his distinct blend of organic folk tones atop powerful electronica, he’s the godfather of Armenian deep house. Through releases on his own imprint Hoomidas, he’s inspired so many modern producers. We enamoured to welcome him to XYZ, as he whisks What They Want in classic style. Playful house drums get us moving, while ominous synthetics envelop the groove. The vocal chops ebb too and fro throughout the arrangement, with big dancefloor moment’s a-plenty within this Armen masterclass.

Argentina’s invigorating pairing of Nacho Varela & Cruz Vittor has proven illustrious in recent times. They’ve been producing some of the most vivacious & sought-after remixes and edits on the planet, alongside original material on Anjunadeep and Shanti Moscow Radio. The duo comes through again as they twist What They Want to fit their scintillating sound. Swirling melodics stir us into the groove, as a punchy bassline ignites the vibe. A luscious build takes things to another level, offering yet another Nacho & Cruz weapon for the DJs amongst us.

SDK - What They Want (Nacho Varela & Cruz Vittor Remix) [Snippet]

Kassey Voorn’s ‘Skyline’ gets some stellar remix treatment from John Cosani, Blusoul and Panayiotis Tassis. 

Released late last year as part of the ‘Party Bots’ EP, ‘Skyline’ showcased the Greek underground hero’s silky beats and understated melodics.
First up, Argentinian label regular, John Cosani adds his unique flavour transforming the track with low-slung bass goodness, building up the melodic elements patiently towards an epic climax.

Back to Aegean territory to find Blusoul, who broke onto the scene way back in 2009, bringing his considerable studio skill to bear next. Deeply trippy from the off, arps intermingle with the original motifs to create a late night soundscape that ebbs and flows. The main break develops new ideas which transport the track in exciting new directions.

Finally, a fresh name, introduced to the label by Kassey himself, Panayiotis Tassis takes up the challenge. His groovy and hypnotic re-imagination shows the Greek underground is in good hands as the baton is passed on to the new generation.

After about a year of sending Daniel music and getting some support in his mixtapes, he reached out about remixing one of the tracks off his new album. I was already ecstatic about the opportunity, but once I learned it was a track with Patrick Baker, the excitement doubled. I've always been a huge fan of Patrick's vocals; they perfectly embody the wistfulness and uplifting melancholy that underpins so much of my music, so it was awesome getting to use them in a track.

I'm really happy with how this remix turned out so I hope you all enjoy it.

In addition to this remix, I'm set to join Lane 8 for 5 dates on his Little By Little album tour, supporting him in Washington DC, Philadelphia, Toronto, as well as sold out shows in Brooklyn and Cambridge.

Riversilvers & Oscuro - Crying All The Time (Instrumental Mix)

Oscuro emerged in 2014 after winning a Beatport Play contest for Tears For Fears and a subsequent release on Universal - "Pale Shelter" and a subsequent release on Universal. His debut album Can't Stop Now followed in 2015 with singles featured on The Line Of Best Fit, THUMP and EDM.com's chill imprint. 

The follow up to Can't Stop Now was 2016's All In My Mind with singles premiered on EARMILK, CLASH, DISCOBELLE & The Line Of Best Fit. The eponymous single ‘All In My Mind’ was playlisted by Spotify's "Fresh Finds" and “Fresh Finds Basement” and has amassed over 100,000 plays on Spotify. 
  
So far in 2019 Oscuro has released tracks that have found their way onto audiovisual blogs such as Fae Child and features on blogs such as comeherefloyd as well as a slot on the new café del mar chillwave 3 compilation.

‘Sitting on my own’ has an incredibly soothing beat and melodic vocals that will transport you to another stratosphere. The song has been masterfully produced and Oscuro has created a beautiful synergy between the vocals and the beat that can’t be matched.

Oscuro had this to say about his latest remix, "... I wanted to remix my latest track 'Sitting On My Own', the original is an end of summer tune that is uplifting but has hints of sadness. I wanted to take the remix in a direction more in line with my general style, more atmospheric with chillstep influences..."
