I grew up with Soft Cell. 
I first caught up with Marc and Dave's incredible music at the end of the duos initial career around 1984, when I was at the tender age of 12. 
I then worked backwards over their catalogue over the next few years. 
The band cemented their place in my consciousness along with the other synth acts at the time.
But there was always something that separated Soft Cell's music even from the likes of the mighty Depeche Mode.
Thinking back on it now I think it's actually two things:
Marc's kitchen sing drama lyrics which were very different to the other acts at the time, and of course, Dave Balls often quite unusual arrangements. 
Fast forward back to now and the sad, sad news of Dave's passing at a far too young age. 
We at MinorScales wanted to mark his passing in some small measure.
So here is our version of my favourite Soft Cell song.
