Very happy to feature a special mix by @patriciawolf_music for the 20th Mirror Tapes podcast.

"In the past couple of weeks I have watched a few films by Éric Rohmer. First I watched Boyfriends and Girlfriends, then The Aviator’s Wife, and most recently Four Adventures of Reinette and Mirabelle. These three films were made between 1981 and 1987 and stylistically feel very much like a product of their time, but also timeless in the sense of how humans navigate relationships. Through these films and many of his others, Rohmer continues the ancient tradition of telling moral tales and having proverbs play out in clever and comedic ways. I loved every moment of these films and can’t wait to dive deeper into his work. These films left an impression on me and in the days after I craved music that gave me the feeling of being in his film environments. This mix includes music that holds some of the same magic and energy for me. One interesting fact about the films of Rohmer is that he seldom includes extradiegetic music. He views the inclusion of off screen music as a violation of the fourth wall. While I do love soundtracks in films I respect and appreciate his perspective on this. His focus on dialogue and the ambient sounds of the locations is more than enough, but in the aftermath made me want to linger in music of a seemingly similar time and emotion. With this mix, I daydream a bit more about his films."

I7HVN predominantly delves in the realms of Techno, Electro & IDM
but contrastingly has also invited Electronica & Ambient music in his Catalog. 

He’s been featured numerous times on esteemed publications such as Mixmag Asia, TheWildCity, TIMD, Homegrown & more.

He Also debuted his Live-set in the year 2023 along with Satori by Vishal Unni & Caged experience by Chaz.

The 90 minute set consisted of no-nonsense textural heavy techno & broken beat rhythms infused with sharp
sequences & lush atmospheres.

In 2021, I7HVN founded the 'Safar' collective, a community of boundary- pushing artists who embrace experimentation as a means of self- expression. 

His left-field collective seeks to illuminate experimental art
and cultivate a self-sustaining ecosystem where like- minded artists can thrive.

I7HVN has garnered support from the likes of Vinicious Honorio, Truncate, TWR72, MTD, Raar Eric Cloutier, Casual Treatment, Audio Units, Juri Heidemann, Uvall & many more. He has also shared the stage with the
likes of Alarico, DJ Ladytazz, Stenny to name a few.

Blending experimental, low-end frequencies with deep bass and intricate rhythms - this mix wants to guide you through alluring, often cathartic, sonic journeys offering fascination with obscure, cinematic narratives and futuristic themes, creating a distinct atmosphere that feels both dystopian and self-reflective, but always driven with deep emotion.

This mix was recorded at Mandarin’s home in Berlin, where creativity flows amidst piles of vinyl, punk shirts tossed over chairs, and grunge band books she’s definitely read-like, all of them. So, yes, she can tell you the obscure backstory behind that one Nirvana lyric, but only if her dog, an aspiring DJ that he is, stops constantly tripping over her legs every time she was about make that transition:) ✺

Born in 1995, this young gun, has made some major leaps forward in the world of electronic dance music. Although being new to the scene, his productions would make you believe he has been doing it for years. It all started when he firstly listened to Deadmau5’s productions. Swanson was really impressed and inspired by him leading himself to the world of music production.

Swanson makes all kinds of music, but mostly Progressive house. Focusing on uplifting and catchy melodies, Swanson has huge ambition and motivation, expressing his feelings through his productions. Having released many remixes for trendsetters like Inna, Amanda Wilson, David Hopperman, Renvo and having won many competitions on Indaba Music, Swanson assures his continued ascent. His official remix of Inna’s single ‘’J’Adore’’ [Roton] was one of his most successful releases which was supported by iHeart Radio, Radio FG USA and NRJ en Belgique and by the names of Ferry Corsten, Cosmic Gate, Tara McDonald, Diego Miranda, Caroline D’Amore (Billboard Magazine DJ) and many more decent artists.
