Gaster takes the role of Asgore.

With the experiment ending the way it did, Gaster started to be nervous about his reputation, therefore he fled the scene of the experiment and put his “followers” inside a magical hemlock, which technically put everyone inside an inbetween-dimension. Though, he didn’t tell anyone that the hemlock was his creation, and instead just lied to everyone about it being the humans’ dark wizardry. With a heart of cowardice, Gaster remains within his observatory, minding his business, planning on his next project… while progressively trying to get rid of you.

Despite his cowardice and selfishness, Gaster does have his bright side, occasionally trying to motivate people about trying again if something doesn’t go the way they want it to. He is also not the kind of person to give up on his projects and experiments, no matter how many times he fails.

Hopeless is a roleshift AU inspired by the harsh aesthetic of Underfell. The harshness of the character's personalities altered the events following the human-monster conflict, leading to an underground riddled with disarray. That said, at their core everyone is still the classic characters you know and love, even if it's a little harder to see that than usual.

Papyrus takes the Undyne role, leading the Royal Guard in his mentor's absence. Always looking up to her, he models his leadership skills after her, and as a result has to put on a harsh persona.
