This is my composition of one of the songs in Thirupugazh (Tamil திருப்புகழ் tiruppukazh "Holy Praise" or "Divine Glory") which is a 15th-century anthology of Tamil songs dedicated to Murugan, the son of Shiva, written by the poet-saint Arunagirinathar. I have set it in raag bhupali/Mohanam - to bring that pentatonic Tibetan aura of Mount Kailash.

Next in the series of Beauty of Ragas, is the raga Bahudari. I am basically a fan of folk music and flute and folk always go well together. Hence I added a folky twist to this piece.

My first instrumental composition in this genre. I have always been an ardent fan of the Music Maestro llayaraja who has given me immense joy though his musical compositions and impeccable arrangements. I dedicate this composition 'Moonrays' to the Maestro.
