Little is (publicly) known about Miami-based SLUGGERS but in almost no time they have landed support from industry top dogs Skrillex, Boys Noize, A-Trak & Diplo. 

This has lead to SLUGGERS appearances at some of the worlds top festival stages including TomorrowWorld, Ultra Music Festival & EDC Las Vegas. 

After landing a track in Skrillex’s BBC 1 Essential Mix, the Slugs were tapped for an EP on OWSLA’s Nest and an official remix of Diplo’s single, ‘Revolution’ on Mad Decent, their HYPR/COURTESY EP released on Fool's Gold Clubhouse, and Voyager EP on Main Course Records. 

But you can only be in the little league for so long right (just kidding Diplo and Skrill and co). 

But - we might have hung out with these mysterious peeps in Miami this year - their hometown no less - and the fruits of those hangs are this very EP. 

Eat your heart out Fatboy, there's a new Eat Sleep in town - and it's called MY HEAD. 

Try get this out of your head.

When we approached Walker & Royce to make an album in 2016, we knew the guys were pioneering a new sound and thought they would make a timeless album traversing genres and moods.   Needless to say, “Self Help” blew away our expectations, hitting #1 on multiple charts and leading them on a sold-out tour that’s still going a year later. 

It’s impossible to change perfection, but the album was still ripe for some new interpretations from some close Dirtybird family and friends.  John Tejada re-appears after his first appearance on DB003 in 2005 with his remix and dub of “My Own Thang”, taking a stripped back approach with punchy drums and tweaked synths. Justin Martin & Ardalan team up for their take on “Can You Pass That”, with new drums and dramatic risers. Justin Jay surprises everyone with his deeper SoCal version of “Take Me To Your Leader”. J.Phlip is back with her acid lover’s remix of “Rub A Dub” feat. Green Velvet. Walker & Royce deliver their own rework of “Role Models” for their sets, and up and coming producer Franklyn Watts beefs up the bass on “Love and Marriage.” 

Overall, this package is loaded with great versions of W&Rs “Self Help,” so do yourself a solid and help yourself.

Walker & Royce feat. Green Velvet - Rub Anotha Dub (J.Phlip Remix)[DIRTYBIRD]

Following on from his first Beatport no.1 with All I Need earlier this year alongside Tim Barseko, the curious enigma that is Shiba San has now caught the attention of the Solardo lads. Welcoming the respected producer to their esteemed Sola label for his debut release, get set to check out the Downtown EP. 

Less is definitely more, with lead EP track Downtown featuring eerie cosmic pulses and erratic clicks that blend to create a bouncing, club ready rhythm. Meanwhile, Crush That fuses robotic synth structures, hoisted above a haunting bassline and hypnotising vocal hook that is set to reach the darkest corners of the dancefloor. 

Shiba San is a remarkable name on the dance circuit, emerging from the French hip hop scene having become fascinated by the sounds of Chicago house, the Parisian producer was inspired to create his own productions and the rest was history. Breakthrough release Okay claimed the no.1 position on Beatport’s house chart for 82 days, earning plays from radio tastemakers Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Danny Howard whilst garnering support from Claude Von Stroke, Eats Everything and Green Velvet to name a few. 

Fast forward to this year and Shiba San continues to let the music do the talking, with releases including the Off To Funk EP on Green Velvet’s Relief Records and the Don’t Talk EP on Dirtybird. With no signs of stopping, make way for a slew of impressive show dates including his North American residency tour as well as Australia, Asia and major festivals including a monumental mainstage closing slot at Dirtybird Campout.
