Sweater Funk Presents...K-Maxx is the latest EP vinyl release from the Bay Area's Ken Hopkins and the first from San Francisco's Sweater Funk DJ crew.

Featuring four modern funk songs aimed straight at the lovers and dancers, K-Maxx's music is about love and the quest for it, but in a genuine & honest way. With all of the slick talk regarding male/female relationships in music these days, K-Maxx thought it would be refreshing to have some tunes where the guy is really enamored with a girl without fear of being corny or un-cool. "I'm trying to help the fellas put the guards down with their ladies!"

The music here is sequenced like most relationships: The first time you met (Eye On U), the weeklong hookup (Cupcakin'), time to tell your homies (Make It Official) and the everlasting love you can always depend on to make everything in life make sense again (My Medicine). 

K-Maxx is no stranger to the Bay Area music scene, having released his first hip hop single "Sumthin' Ta Roll Wit" back in 1995. He was an MC on that record and remains one to this day, only in the last few years has Ken started to record his singing. A musician and singer since childhood, his multi-instrumental talents on guitar, bass, drums and keys set his music apart from bedroom producers turning out modern funk 12"s these days. This and his songwriting that wears it's 80's R & B influence on his sleeve makes for one of the best funk records to come out in the last few years.
