TJH87 return with another track borne out of their year long hiatus, following on from last month’s release of ‘New Horizons’ the duo forge ahead with August’s release of ‘Wait For Us’. 

Once again the duo have taken their cue from the 80’s synth era, with the added bonus of a beautiful almost restrained piano line, and have infused their music with a vocal that feels inspired by the likes of ‘Deep Forest’, adding an almost otherworldly feel to the track, an expression of space is formed, with the track feeling unconstrained it comes across as music constructed as a reflection of nature, perhaps what it embodies is the vast emptiness of Finland, or the lush vegetation of the Amazon; however you understand it or however it moves you there is no denying that it creates an illusion of tranquility. 

When questioned about their reasons for creating the music in this style, the duo were quick to point out that a lot of today’s music is almost paint by numbers. They wanted to address the fact that recent electronic music seems to fit a template, one which is re-used over and over to try to achieve success:

“We have an understanding of the boundaries of that type of construction and we wanted to try to avoid falling into the same trap, and in doing so hope we have created something more expressive and expansive.” 

‘Wait For Us’ adds yet another 1st class release to the duo’s catalogue, expanding their sound, yet staying remarkably true to their roots. 

‘Wait For Us’ is released August 19th on Youth Control
