Last year we premiered the first release of Cologne collective HOOVE. Now they return with number two. As they continue with their commitment to really put the German city on the map, the focus remains on driving forward an already passionate electronic music scene. And although Kompakt may be the most well-known electronic entity in the area, HOOVE are the ones holding up the house flag.

For release number 15 on the Conspiracy imprint, label heads Elijah and Nate deliver their debut EP together after a string of singles spanning 3 years. Electrode is the final product of many late nights, in and out of the studio, and a collection of experiences transposed into musical form.
Joining us for the remixes on this very special release are two of Europes most in demand, both making their first appearance on the label. Ben Balance, Sukhumvit top dog and member of Mannheim's Be9 crew, flips the title track Electrode whilst You&Me label boss Josh Baker stamps his authority with a fresh outlook on Provocation. 

Oozing character, the title track from Nate and Elijah is an electro inspired house heater. The pinnacle of their sets for the best part of 2019, Electrode has left a trail of destruction wherever it has landed. Four to the floor rhythm and a growling bass from the word go, ravey stabs and sweeping pads evolve throughout the mix breathing life into this high energy offering from the boys.

The remix of title track Electrode is an instantly recognisable Ben Balance groover. This take captures the essence of a brawny bass number combined with Bens unique swinging drum elements and a rarely heard melodic flavour from the Mannheim local. 

Wasting no time with intros, Provocation opens strong with a relentless rolling bass line. Tidy percussion keeps this monster moving forward whilst glitching synths go to work amongst jolting stabs and acid licks. Another tried and tested hammer for the second original on the release from Eli & Nate.  

Josh Baker is at the forefront of a new wave of emerging European artists and his remix of Provocation is a shining example of just why that is. The young Manchester resident delivers a peak time raver, reminiscent of the glory days of 90s UK house music, to round out the release.  

Sit back and let Electrode transport you to the dancefloor, four tracks each with their own signature sound, for Conspiracy's strongest offering to date.
