An old-time string band based in The Netherlands, the group endeavors to play a mix of ballads passed down from living folk musicians back in the States as well as songs learned from field recordings and favorite artists. 

In order to come up with a name, Anna and Annick started listing things they missed from home-- Appalachia and the South. After a long list, including warm rain, front porches, driving barefoot, rolling hills, cicadas and crickets, they landed upon the plant, Sweet Joe Pye.
