Hello everyone, thank you for tuning in to my mix, Underground Teknology. This is a live recording from my set my afterhours in August, which was literally held underground. I brought in some of SF’s favorite DJs including d.Santis from our Funky Teknomics team, as well as Bairfro, Larissa Porto, & Br3nt of Junkshop. Everyone threw down some amazing sets and rocked the dancefloor from start to finish. This is a pure Techno mix with tracks from artists I’ve been following for ages, including Green Velvet, Matt Sassari, Juan DDD, and many others. You can see the full tracklist below. UNDERGROUND TEKNOLOGY - David Paul LIVE - Afterhours August 21, 2021

I made this mix inspired from a track a friend played at my last party (his view on sharing music is lovely). The profound affect it had within me, birthed a much needed process of really looking myself. I acknowledged & worked through some seriously hard sh*t. I didn't intend on making it public, but record on the fly without thoughts of program or perfection and keep it private as a reminder/reflection tool. After a few days time with it, and much thought behind the entirety of it all, I decided to offer it out. I hope it brings you FEEL. 

Music is therapy, a journal, a journey & a spirit connector. Sitting in my reflective vulnerability, I share this, as its caused great growth in me as a human and as a DJ. I need to remember!! Put forth positive action to better create; To be doing the things that create who I aim to BE, while letting go of fear and being LOVE. Purely, in the essence of who I AM. Blessed BE!

Hot Creations Galactic Radio Transmission 052 by Goosey

"Audiotistic" is a mix of the tracks that I selected for my birthday event at Audio SF on April 3rd. That’s why the the tracks are at least 2-3 months old. No laptop, no sync button. I picked out almost 30 tracks for my set. Of course I didn't play all of these tracks at Audio, since I only played an hour, and there are also some tracks that I played that are not in my original tracklist or in this mix.

For the event I brought in Sergio Fernandez of Spain and owner of Insert Coin Records, who has been one of my favorite producers since I began DJing 2010. He put down an amazing set and show, as did the supporting DJs: Scottie E, Jill McDonald, Lindsey Herbert, Frankie Jr., and Dean Samaras. Thank you everyone.

This mix is a little longer than my previous one, but once you set aside an hour and 45 minutes to listen to it, I'm sure you'll have no problem staying tuned in, especially if you love Tech and Techno.  I start off with some catchy Tech tracks, and move right into some heavier bass Techno, then back out to Tech, and then ending it off with a deeper sounding Tech. I have more Tech than Techno in the selection, to stay in line with Sergio's style of amazing Tech, as he played at Audio. AUDIOTISTIC -  David Paul - Audio SF - 4.3.16

Before the year ends, I’m posting another mix for everyone. This is a live set from the Social AM afterhours in San Francisco. I titled this “DUI on the Fly” since I was definitely deejaying under the influence, more so than I prefer to be. On the fly, meaning I didn’t have any brand new tracks or have a playlist or even an idea of what I planned to do with my set, musically.

I ended up starting with Tech House and then moved to Techno (of course), but took it back down to Tech at the end, as I was the closing DJ. I followed my good friends Nilo & Laur who always put down great sets, as they are veteran DJs. The opening vocal of “Fine Day” is actually their closing track. It’s such a great classic vocal that I had to allow it to open my recorded set.

DUI on the Fly - Live @ Afterhours 11-25-17

Happy New Year! And thank you for tuning in to my first mix of 2018. This mix is titled “Sunday Morning Spins” based on one of my favorite tracks of the mix. This is a live recording from my set at Monroe on NYE, in San Francisco, which is SF’s weekly after-AFTER party, every Sunday morning, called After Dawn.

It was an honor to play the closing set for the last After Dawn party of the year. On top of that, I had the opportunity to follow some of San Francisco’s favorite DJs, J Casablanca, Halloran, and our Funky Teknomics DJ, Zara Mez. I was in a very Techno mood that week and had come across some amazing Techno tracks over the last week and month. And being that I did the closing set, I decided to bring and play some very melodic tracks, which you’ll hear in the second half of the mix. Though melodic, the Techno is still a very funky and pumpin’, not too different from what you might here at a closing Techno set at a festival. The transitions in my mix are a bit rough around the edges (5 hours of sleep in 3 days), but the tracks are so good that I had to post the mix. 

One of my favorite tracks, like I mentioned earlier, is titled Sunday Morning (Skream Remix) by Pirupa. I’ve been following both for years and knew just from seeing it that the track would be epic. When I heard this track, I knew I had to play it at a Sunday morning at Monroe. “Sunday morning I’m still spinning…” I waited months to play it, and there was no better time to play it than for the last track at Monroe for 2017. My other favorite track of the mix is a mashup that d.Santis (@dsantismusic ) (of our Funky Teknomics team) and I did using Ramon Bedoya’s (@deejayramonbedoya) re-edit of GrindHouse, originally by Dubfire. We added a couple sounds to it, but more importantly added some amazing vocals “Techno Vocals” by Marc Houle (@marchoule)… “Why are all the vocals pitched down so low? THIS is the way we make Techno!”

Here's another mashup that d.Santis ( @dsantismusic ) and I did. One of my currently favorite producers is Ramon Bedoya ( @deejayramonbedoya ). He remixed/edited Dubfire's remix of Grindhouse (Original by Radio Slave).

This mashup was inspired when Juan Beatz posted "Techno Vocals" by Marc Houle on Instagram. We twisted, chopped, looped, and laid the vocals/acapella of this track over Ramon's recent edit.
