Emerging in a raucous rage of rock and roll from the bar-rooms and backrooms of London’s underground scene, Sweetheart Contract are Americana-scented budding roses of poetic alt-pop as capable of throwing out heart-rattling ballads as they are soaring summer anthems.

Led by Dexy, a songwriter in the mould of Big Star’s Alex Chilton and The Replacements’ Paul Westerberg, who learned his craft playing sweetly shambolic solo acoustic shows across the UK, the band are about to embark on shows with country-punk legends Lucero as well as rising star Lydia Loveless. They have also shared bills with Austin Lucas, Cory Branan, Jon Snodgrass, Larry & His Flask, The Wedding Present, Young Hines, Franz Nicolay,Two Cow Garage and even Boy George.

With a single release imminent, a ton of shows set to be torn through and an album’s worth of sad, shining songs already in the bag, this is a genuine band with genuine heart who are set to capture the imagination of smart, passionate music fans in a blaze of melody, fury and frenetic performance."
