My Sweet Jam bandmate and writer of all the original songs we did, Mark McFadden and I performing our version of Kasey Chambers and Shane Anthony Nicholson's song, "Wildflower". I found this gem recording from one of our rehearsals when Mark said he found this beautiful song for us to try. This might have been just the second time we did the song together.

Wildflower

This is a rough demo of an original song I wrote to bring awareness of the plight of our wolf kin - and how important they are to our spirit and our survival. Sweet Jam was very saddened at the passing of Scott McKenzie in August 2012. Therefore, we included our version of his iconic "San Francisco" song on our "Familiar Faces" cd, in his honor. Sweet Jam also performed this song as a tribute to Scott at the Monterey 45 Years Later Festival on September 29, 2012, which was held at the Monterey County Fairgrounds, site of the original Monterey Pop. Sweet Jam Featured on KSCO AM FLIGHT 1080

This version of "Wayfaring Stranger" was inspired by the Johnny Cash rendition. This is a rough mix and was initially recorded by my boyfriend, Keith Graves, at the home of a friend where I was pet sitting. The acoustics in this home are so perfect and that's why we wanted to try a recording there. I had fun harmonizing with my vocals, and playing a simple melodica part. Keith added the guitar, bass and tambourine parts. Dexter, the Labradoodle, also contributed to this song with cuddles inbetween takes.

As well as singing this song, I wrote it in collaboration with Terry Haggerty, guitar (Sons of Champlain), his wife Katie Guthorn (back up vox) and Keith Graves, bass, drums and recording. It's my Rock Song!

Originally from Canada, I am a California girl now! I sing and play recorders, as well as some melodica and Native Indian Flutes. 

Some of the music I have posted here is from recordings with my previous bands: Sweet Jam, plus my very first recording with Club Leroux, and an experimental recording of my own utilizing guitar licks from Terry Haggerty (Sons of Champlain) on our Song Farm project, called "Wolf Song". #SavetheWolves

I have also been part of two Celtic Pirate Rock bands (O'Craven and PIPR) under the alias of Captain Kitty. I sang songs such as Dropkick Murphy's "Dirty Glass" and did backup vocals. We played the Vallejo Pirate Festival and the Northern California Renaissance Faire plus, numerous local clubs. Too much fun!!! Arrr!

Another project that was so much fun was The Seaside Sisters. We were an acoustic duo playing fun and quirky covers of popular songs spanning genres and decades. Hannah Smalltree and myself sang in harmony, and played ukulele, recorders and creative percussion. We were often known to improvise, welcome random guests, incite unexpected singalongs, share bad jokes and hold impromptu contests. It was vaguely vaudeville, a modern sideshow and an all-around good time.

I'm also proud that I had the opportunity to sing back-up vocals with the Jerry Miller Band (Moby Grape) as well, wrote and sang original songs with Terry Haggery, his wife Katie Guthorn (Big Bang Beat) and Keith Graves (JMB, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Jefferson Starship, Kevin Cadogan, Greg Camp) for our Song Farm project.

I'm looking to connect with like-minded musicians to form a band, duo, trio, whatever, as long as we have fun! Ideally, would like to regularly rehearse so that we can play at some local venues.
