joking around
it was all fun and games
yet you didn’t take it that way
all I wanted to be was friends with you
yet my words had rubbed you the wrong way

and I know it was stupid of me to continue
i didn’t realize that I had hurt you
i know that we should have stopped and looked at ourselves
but our ignorance had gotten the better of us

you showed me my own flaws and carelessness
i tried to change my own ways
but it was too late
i really should have been more aware
but I realized there is  nothing I can do but go on

and now I can say that I have changed
to be more mindful of what I say and do
what matters is to listen to your feelings
and to hold no grudge against you
