The Thing (Mk.1)

I was jamming in my room today and I made this with an electric guitar + amp + Electro Harmonix Stereo Memory Man With Hazarai + USB mic + Audacity. Done in "1.5 takes" cos I laid the down the loop that fades in at the start before doing the recording. The Hazarai is an awesome pedal, you can loop with it and reverse the loops, do echoes and reverse echoes, tape delay effects, stereo echoes, loads of stuff.

My instrumental acoustic blues guitar interpretation of Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze". The colour "hyacinthine" is a purple/blue colour so I thought it'd be a good name for this... Recorded June 16th 2014 in Brighton by Sweets Rage and Kin;Aesthetic.

Eastern/Indian sounding jazz/improv on six-string, ending with a riff on "The Wind Cries Mary" by good ol' Jimi Hendrix and a shout-out to Mary Bateman (soundcloud.com/xxxfairymaryxxx) who was up next (see what I did there? Eh? Eh!) Also I laugh like a loon at the end - enjoy!

Recorded by Nigel at the Harcourt Arms Open Mic on 24/05/2015. I played my Ibanez RGA420z straight through the PA - sorry for the crackles, the inputs couldn't handle the strength of that guitar.
