Never Knew

Lead singer Dan McCaffrey and lead guitarist Nick Riviezzo have been making music together since high school. Through many years and different group members, they developed SWIM’s signature rock/pop sound. Late spring 2014 saw the official formation of the band SWIM, along with the composition of many of SWIM’s earliest original songs, including “Natural Feeling”. With these songs, the band focused on creating a classic pop sound with a foundation in alternative rock.

In the summer of 2014, SWIM found what it was missing in bassist Tyler Aigotti and drummer Brian D’Angio, with the absorption of these two new members, SWIM’s activity accelerated . During this time, SWIM played shows all across Long Island, with notable venues being the Mineola Street Fair, the Huntington Fall Festival, and 89 North Music Venue among others. 

The fall of 2015 saw the release of SWIM’s debut, self-titled EP. Acclaimed by fans, the record featured five of the group’s earliest songs. Following Iaquinta’s and Aigotti’s departure from the group, multi-talented Patrick Morelli, pianist and bassist, joined the group in late 2015, solidifying the band’s transformation into an alternative, indie rock hybrid and a true powerhouse, united by a conglomerate of mutual influences and general desire to derive new material from a rock influence focused on distinctive riffs and pop-style choruses. 

Currently, SWIM is recording at Studio G in Brooklyn, working on their second five-track EP, aimed to be released this summer. This EP provides a more mature sound, marked with guitar hooks and continuing grooves. This album blends classic rock with modern pop creating the infectious rock/pop that SWIM is known for.

SWIM is a pop-rock band originating from Stony Brook, NY. The members of SWIM inherited a love for classic rock and combined it with their love for indie rock (The Strokes, The Kooks, The Killers) and pop-rock (One Direction, Coldplay, The Lumineers) to create a modern pop-rock sound that is fun and refreshing. Dan McCaffrey(24), Nick Riviezzo (25), Brian D’Angio (21), and Pat Morelli (21) , friends since high school, the members of SWIM have taken time to develop their sound into a refreshing pop-rock sound that is as authentic as it is radio ready. After emerging as one of the top band’s on Long Island, SWIM has captured the nation’s attention performing at stages such as SXSW in Austin, TX. Following the 2017 release of SWIM's sophomore effort Finally, Someone, SWIM broke through with their first single “Heartbeat Connection” which has gathered over 250,000 streams on Spotify. SWIM debuts a fine-tuned, focused bid at powerful, alternative rock laced with pop overtones, with songs that revolve around themes of love lost, love found, and love longed-for. SWIM has just begun to work with Christina Chirumbolo (Daya, Renee Rapp) of CMC Records, who saw the opportunity to work with a promising young pop band, in an age of solo pop artists.
