After establishing itself as a leading light for electronic music fans and having become a platform for a cluster of artists who have gone on to forge globe spanning careers, the Belgian based, worldwide reaching musical imprint known as Smash The House steps into a new phase with the announcement of its sub-label Smash Generation. Spearheaded by founders Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Smash Generation want to provide opportunities for a new breed of creators by plucking the finest emerging artists of today and help turn them into the stars of tomorrow!

Th spawn of a new label under the STH banner is the brothers desire to match the passion and enthusiasm of the new generation of music lovers. Through Smash Generation, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike will give artists a gateway to bolstering their career and rise through the ranks of the scene, forging strong and creatively-free careers in the music scene. Bringing all the capacity of an established label through the Smash The House team’s knowledge, experience and ability, this project is being launched to offer something fresh and specific to a new class of artists. Under the realm of the electronic dance music, Smash Generation will encourage artists to unleash their artistic flow and find their own voice and style within their music.

Speaking about the Smash Generation label launch Dimitri Vegas commented: “Smash Generation is a venture into discovering talent from any walk of life. From our extensive global tours to the staggering number of high-quality demos we receive, we’re still baffled by the number of artists who are not being given a spotlight to shine under.”  

Like Mike added further to say, “Smash The House has grown to become a recording arm with significant label standing, both helping to launch the careers of many artists from Wolfpack to MATTN to releasing music featuring A-list names such as Steve Aoki, Diplo, Wiz Khalifa, and Ne-Yo. But Dimitri and I felt it was time to carve another pathway for the innumerable artists from a wide span of genres that aren’t receiving a specific kind of support.”

Vigel and Aryue have teamed up together once again for another heater; this time their brand new track ‘Rip Up The Rhythm’, set to be released Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s Generation Smash, a sublabel of Smash The House known for procuring the latest hot new talent in the world of hard-hitting dance music. It’s not the first time the two have worked together, releasing track ‘GUANGZHOU’ to an epic response, industry-wide. 

Beginning with thumping kicks layered against oscillating bass noises, ‘Rip Up The Rhythm’ sets the tone as an EDM-leaning, white knuckle ride that, as the track gradually builds, cascades with a crescendo of punchy snares. As a vocal sample can be heard initiating the first drop, as we enter the second break “Rip Up The Rhythm” takes a twist, stabbing pads and trance melodies heard give the track a more euphoric feel. The mood suddenly changes again with the emergence of a break-beat section,  showcasing that Vigel and Aryue have definitely worked magic with this one, combining their different styles to create a track that truly Rips Up The Rhythm throughout.

“This song is all about the balance of different cultures & different genres” states Vigel,  “I got the idea when I was visiting China last year. We spoke with my Chinese friend Aryue & decided to combine our different views of dance music - Asian and European”. Speaking on the huge collaboration, Aryue continued: “I've always wanted to put some bass music vibes into big-room to have something fresh. This song is a great example of such an experiment. We really hope that this tune can be something you can enjoy & remember!”.

Vigel has a string of achievements under his belt and is already a familiar face on the scene.  He’s had support from the likes of Martin Garrix, R3hab and David Guetta on his instrumental track “SQRT”. “SQRT” was also the played record of the year by Armin Van Buuren as aside from this, he’s played across many major festivals around the globe from A State Of Trance to Tomorrowland. Aryue is an emerging producer based in London that has already amassed an impressive number of releases on a number of well known labels, with a unique style and refined talents he’s definitely one to watch into 2020 and beyond.
