Evidently a rather switched on guy from Bristol, Culprate’s been touring the world off the back of his dubstep infused music for some time now. Reportedly inspired by Caspa & Rusko’s FABRICLIVE mix, after crowd sourcing the money to make his debut album, Deliverance, Culprate’s also proved himself adept at making styles of music that isn’t really all that intended for dancefloors. He’s worked hard to open up his scope and his remit and that’s what makes him a rather interesting prospect. So ahead of his appearance in Room One this Friday (3rd April) we asked him to make us a mixtape that could perhaps reflect just a little piece of where his music tastes are at right now…

ich bin rapper, autor, buchbinder, maler, pornodarsteller, zocker, wurfgegenstand
und familienvater zugleich. ich hab mehr laster als eine spedition und wahrscheinlich
mehrere geistige defekte die ich bis aufs bitterste verleugnen werde. mein leben
besteht wie das eines astronauten aus 90 prozent langeweile und 10 prozent
unfassbarer hollywood-action. ich kann mehrere dinge gleichzeitig machen
ohne eine frau zu sein und liebe es zu fluchen und über ordinäre witze zu lachen.
ich hasse alle menschen gleichmässig und politik ist nicht mehr als ein wort
für mich. geld besteht in meinen augen aus kleinen bedruckten scheinen und
nicht aus göttlichem manna das es zu horten gilt um finanziell erfolgreich tot zu sein.
ich mag einfache dinge wie nackte frauen, gewalt in unzensierten actionfilmen,
guten alkohol, zigaretten und elektronische druckknöpfe. ich habe eine schöne
handschrift, werde dir aber keinen brief schreiben. ich kann in sämtlichen
raptechnischen farben musizieren aber weigere mich strikt einen tanz einzustudieren.
ich bin ein kompletter volltrottel also wundere dich nicht wenn dir mein schaffen
intellektuell erscheint. ich mache musik aus keinem komerziellen zweck sondern
einfach weil ich mir den wahnsinnigen unfug aus meinem kopf gerne anhöre.
ich esse gerne drei döner hintereinander und dann ein halbes jahr garkeinen.
ich bestehe aus widersprüchen und extremen. ich habe ein wunderschönes
geschlechtsorgan das an dieser stelle überhaupt nichts verloren hat. mein rap
ist unterhaltsam und wird dich in kalten nächten wärmen. falls der mond in dein
ghetto kracht ist es mein rap der dich wieder ausgräbt und dir sagt das deine
familie gestorben ist und dich dann tröstend in den arm nimmt um nachhause
gehen und playstation spielen zu können. ich habe ein windrad im waldviertel
aufgebaut aus rein dekorativen gründen. ich kann schach spielen und lese
ausserordentlich viel. und ich hab ausserordentlich viel geschrieben.
das meiste kennst du nicht und das wird wahrscheinlich auch das beste sein.
ich verstehe zwei sprachen, die andere ist englisch und trotz aller halbwahrheiten
ist das nur die spitze des eisbergs...

ps.: ich bin kein schweiz-ungarischer kopfgeldjäger aus bayern...
