what is a VCTRE Chill Set?

i have played countless sets for the better part of a decade. reading a room is a trade that comes with lots of repetition. accordingly, as an up and coming artist, you strive to create an environment; something familiar for people to attach themselves to; and i did(do) just that. 

to be frank, i am playing in venues late night, the crowd wants to rage, and I’m gonna give it to them.

zero chill. (and i love it)

however, there is so much more to be achieved from a live set, personally. i make all kinds of music and put a lot of emotion behind it which doesn’t pan to the masses usually. these Chill Sets have been my outlet for that.

i’ve only done a handful of these sets, as i hold them close to my heart. music has been a healing tool for me my entire life and these sets are a way to truly express myself. they are calculated. i put immense hours and work into every one i’ve done thus far. there are certain songs like the one i made with charles, or the pluto era id, or this new one in the mix, ‘9 Nine’, that would either sit on my laptop forever, or be played out in special environments; and i’m gonna keep it that way.

my plan is to keep these Chill Sets an ongoing endeavor, while at the same time keeping them sacred/scarce. 

i.e. 

these sets are best late night at a festival or at a certain /curated event. i’ve done them that way at places like Solasta, Submersion, and Sound Haven and i don’t know how to put into words the feeling that is in the air during that hour, but it’s there. and if you’ve been to one in person, you know what i mean. and you also know there’s always a couple of moments in the set where it gets not so chill. pretty much my mindset with these sets is i’m going to play songs from myself and/or peers with no limitations or stipulations.
