We all know this moment - you are lying in bed with a loved one and the world stands still.

You put on some music to set the scene for rising temperatures under the sheets…

The set you put on suddenly brings you out of rhythm, but getting up to skip the track is no longer an option.

We have been scouting for the perfect Sunday morning sets for quite a while already and while "Eigentlich heissen wir Klaus" & "Mattmosphere" have been steady suppliers of them for us, we also developed the idea of asking befriended artists to record one hour of music, to which they like to stay in bed with a loved one.

It's an intimate ask, but most of them said yes.

@jan_ludentwiete reached out to us and the recording that he send us was exactly the kind of journey we had in mind when we thought of the cuddle cast series.

FM4 Swound Sound #1411

In anticipation of the upcoming Lucky Star Variety Show Festival in New Zealand, I took a nostalgic dive into this year's recordings. I stumbled upon a spontaneous Saturday evening set I had the privilege of playing at their end-of-season party earlier this year. This moment holds a special place in my heart, I’m excited to share it as both a tribute to the summer that was and a glimpse of the vibrant NZ summer that’s just around the corner.

This set was performed in honour of our very dear friend @dylanc as a gift to him on his birthday with selections that reminded me of him and tracks to make him smile.

Recorded in Taranaki May 2024.

this mixtape emphasizes on beats / beat-making; blending elements of old school instrumental hip-hop beats with contemporary styles, soulful, funk, and jazzy beats, boom bap productions and lo-fi. the majority of the mixtape revolves around underground hip-hop beats; from classics to modern.

the mixtape goes back to 90’s classic boom bap producers and influential figures like k-def and damu the fudgemunk who shined during the golden age of hip-hop to some of the most recent inspirational beatmakers of mine such as bluestaeb, figub brazlevič, melodiesinfonie, potatohead people, all of which play instrumental hip-hop with jazz, soul, funk, and r&b influences; producing smooth, soulful beats that blend elements of boom bap and lo-fi.

Since her mixtapes 'Heavy Heart Affairs' touched me very deeply, there was no way around inviting @elizentheemperor for a cozy Monday morning at cashmere to co-create a special episode that will make you feel lighter even when your heart is heavy. While @elizentheemperor mostly developed the soundscapes on this one, I created poetry that matches some of the tracks hidden within the tape. Take some deep breaths with us, explore your deep space garden, a poem dedicated to the U-Bahn station Birkenstraße in Moabit & what it means to be a lover.

The sunrise serenades I am hosting are driven by the idea of curating mixtapes that express a deep gratitude for musical compositions that hit a soft spot & open up the possibility of being intimate with oneself through writing. This show experiments with sonic & poetic revelations. Inspired & guided by the tracklist, it will tell a different story each time. Explore the attempt to preserve a moment, your dream from last night, a feeling or the color in the sky at dawn through ambient soundscapes & their occasional interconnection with poetry or prose. Madmotormiquel brings us Flow Sessions 006, a warm, emotive and funky mix of house, techno, electro and more. To say the least, we are thrilled to have such a prolific mind bring us no.6. Enjoy.

Born and raised out of West Berlin Michel had only music and collecting records on his mind from an early age. Influenced by British ‚77 punk- rock and US punk from the late 80ies he soon realised musical boundaries were nothing for him. His equally large passion for hip-hop paved the way to first electronic productions. Big beat, drum ‚n‘ bass, acid techno, early spiral tribe stuff...His first fusion festival in early 2000 as well as many illegal open airs and parties in a Berlin filled with open spaces after the fall of the wall, made clear the path he would take. Up until then a party DJ with diverse genres, his passion for techno/house music steadily grew. Through own events with Bachstelzen, a collective of organisers that has greatly influenced Berlin‘s party scene with its events in elaborately themed off-locations, the course was set for frequent techno/house DJ gigs.
