Next up on Sounds From The Block.. for episode 003 we have the one and only @dubztabeats !

Having grown up in Grangetown, Cardiff, Dubzta was first introduced to the world of underground music through the sounds of drum and bass. listening to the likes of Nicky blackmarket, Skibadee, and more. This gave him the drive to start learning how to DJ, learning the basics when he was fourteen. 

From here Dubzta went on to discover garage. buying records from Cardiffs Catapult Records. At the same time as discovering garage he starting hearing sounds Spearheaded by DJ's such as @dj_slimzee & @jonecashmuzic , that we would eventually know as Grime, and other names which were dominating the sidewinder raves & tape packs. since then Dubzta is a credited DJ having played various events, hosted many shows including his previous show on Mode FM, and a large collection of guest mixes.

As a producer Dubzta has touched base on a lot of styles of music, and is very versatile with producing multiple genres of music, from dubstep, grime, garage, drum and bass and more. he has had support from a plethora of DJ's including @dj_slimzee , @djezofficial , DJ Oddz, @sirspyro & More. and has worked with a strong roster of MC's such as @devilman_online , @fardavades , @sox_0121 , @killap_official1 @tempa_t , @hitmansonline , @jammzthemyth & More. 

Dubzta has also released instrumental tracks on @projectalloutrecords , @slimzosrecordings . @rotpot_records , @greezyrekords , and his own imprint @tormentedaudio , where he also releases music from up and coming producers within the grime and 140 scene. 

Dubzta's work-rate is massively underrated for the quality and quantity of the work that he puts out, and hopefully this mix showcases some of the variety that he is packing in his discography.

Grime has its fair share of enduring figures, but Slimzee's tenure as a cornerstone of the scene is more or less unparalleled. As a founding member of the Pay As U Go Cartel- the pioneering crew headed up by Wiley, God's Gift and Flowdan- and a key player in Rinse FM's formative years he was instrumental in Grime's transition from a niche genre to a nationwide phenomenon.

However, Slimzee has never been one to dine out on his credentials, and over the course of his twenty-something year career he has remained a humble but prolific selector, steadily amassing an arsenal of dubplates, specials, and VIPs whilst continuing to break fresh talent via his eponymous Slimzos label and numerous radio shows.

Slimzee's contribution to the Crack mix series is exemplary in style, flitting through a rapidly-mixed selection of sinister dubs and frosty instrumentals to devastating effect.
