Frankie Ruiz
Frankie Ruiz (1958–1998) was one of the great voices of salsa romántica. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in the United States, his passionate delivery and direct interpretation made him a defining figure for an entire generation. His music carried both the intensity of love and the shadows of life, always with an authenticity that deeply resonated with listeners. Despite his personal struggles, he left a legacy that lives on every time his name fills a dance floor.

“Deseándote,” released in 1985, is one of his most emblematic songs. The track blends a captivating melody with lyrics full of longing and desire, showing the power of salsa to express universal emotions.
