This is the first of our new monthly label mix series, to showcase upcoming talent on Dispatch.

Two of the finest US exports, Quadrant & Iris are the first to step up to the controls. 

Picking up combined releases on labels such as Metalheadz, Hospital and Renegade Hardware, they recently released their first tracks on Dispatch.

Both their Dispatch LTD release with Kid Hops "Convergence / Borealis" received numerous praises throughout the scene and their huge collaboration with Hybris & D-Struct "Graphene" has seen already seen incredible support, as part of the Transit 2 album sampler.

This session starts out dark and deep before soaking in some 93 hardcore vibes around the 35min mark. Later in the set, it’s back to the 1994 futuristic retro vibes to close things out.  For the sake of that ‘93 nostalgia, I included some Belmont Tunnel images.  For those who don’t know, in Los Angeles, the old Belmont Tunnel / Toluca substation and train yard was an epicenter for West Coast graffiti and also home to one of the earlier Jungle parties in Los Angeles circa 1993. After five years of planning, writing, and refining their sound, London-based production duo Kolectiv are set to release their long-awaited debut drum & bass album, Circadian Rhythms.

The project began in the aftermath of the pandemic, when the pair started setting aside tracks that captured the spirit of a night out at a drum & bass event. Their vision was clear: to create an album that reflects the variety, energy, and progression of a rave – from the first beats that pull you into the closing sounds that carry you home.

“Going out to drum & bass nights, you’d hear so many different flavours across six or seven hours. We wanted the album to follow that same arc – like a circadian rhythm, a natural flow of time, but in this case the cycle of a rave,” Kolectiv explain.

To achieve this, the duo placed a strong emphasis on originality and sound design. Most of the album was built from scratch using their own recorded samples, crafted through sessions with keys, drums, and guitars, and only dipping into external sources when absolutely necessary. Vocal collaborations from PAV4N, Hijak MC, Illmatika and Kerry Donnelly add unique flavour to the project, while carefully placed interludes tie the project together as a complete listening experience.

“This isn’t just a collection of tracks. We wanted it to be a journey – a cradle-to-grave kind of experience – with highs, lows, and moments to breathe.”

The title Circadian Rhythms captures that intention perfectly: an audio diary of a night spent immersed in drum & bass culture, told through Kolectiv’s trademark blend of technical precision and emotional depth.

The project also coincided with a complete studio overhaul, giving Kolectiv a fresh environment to finalize and mix down the record with a renewed sense of clarity and focus.

With Circadian Rhythms, Kolectiv deliver more than an album – they present a story, an atmosphere, and a tribute to the music and culture that shaped them.
