Blunt Aus Nord, the Edinburgh based dubstep producer, takes inspiration from black metal to explore new ways and new atmospheres in the 140/dubstep genre. His first ever released EP called Blackened Dub consists of four very characteristic tracks: all have dark gothic moods, analogue tape hiss in the background, and well chosen sound effects to build up the vibe for the 'black dubstep'. For this week’s Friday Techno Drop, I created something a little more introspective.
"DUALITY" is an emotional ride—carried by lush synths, cosmic textures, and a warm, reflective tone that unfolds across two distinct halves.

The first half leans into a dreamy break beat groove, spacious and atmospheric, with acid-laced touches weaving through the mix. As the track progresses, it morphs into a powerful 4/4 techno pulse—grounded, hypnotic, and deeply expressive.
