She knew a thing or two about suffering; in fact she could probably write a whole book about it. All the cliches had been thrown her way: 'every cloud has a silver lining', 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger', 'when one door closes, another door opens' and so on... She'd learnt to smile and nod, rather than retort with sarcasm. That said, with each strike or set back there had always been an evaluation, a lesson or a coping mechanism she'd take away and apply to the next situation.

As a way of connecting cities and artists during lockdown, Offenbach's Live At Robert Johnson and Leipzig’s Riotvan have joined forces for a new collaborative release, 'PLAYRVN001'. Made up of five tracks that link up two artists, the EP gives us a window into the sonic foundations of each imprint and the synergy between them both. Collaborations come from Roman Flügel & Rebolledo, Jennifer Touch & Chinaski, New Hook and Perel, Fort Romeau & Panthera Krause and Horkheimer & Peter Invasion & Gregor Habicht, spanning everything from synth pop to cosmic disco, breakbeat and Italo.

Djedjotronic blasts us off on an interstellar journey with The Great Red Spot.

The E.P. takes its name from the ancient and gigantic storm, bigger than the Earth, that swirls around the planet Jupiter. Similarly, the E.P. has a constantly-moving, massive and menacing energy that pushes the sound of electro to new horizons.

The release includes four original peak time meteorites with an additional rocket from Chrome captain Jensen Interceptor, who gives the bass-heavy EP-highlight "Death Clock" a high octane rework.

Physical release is on extra special Jupiter red coloured vinyl.

Only days had passed since they'd embarked on the most ambitious move of their lives, for now they remained positive, still absorbing everything around them. It was a spectacle that couldn't quite be put into words; you had to see it to believe it. 

Sinchi continue their mission to platform up-and-coming talent from across the globe with the fifth instalment in their Altered States compilation series. Since launching the initiative the Amsterdam-based label and collective have unearthed producers who they feel have a unique sound that needs to be shared with the world. The club-focused tackle on offer this time comes from the likes of Hamburg duo Freakazzé II, French electro-driven producer Nomenklatür, Mexico's Oscar Avendaño aka Levantine, our pick from Leo af Ekenstam, and several more.

As with all Sinchi releases, profit from sales go to the Sinchi Foundation which supports indigenous peoples worldwide.

Bordello A Parigi is delighted to welcome back the triumvirate of Sergio Mesa (IAMNOTAROBOT), David Jornet (Strange2, AMPbEND) and vocalist Maia J. In 2020 the partnership, better known as Hypnotique, released the stunning 12” ‘La Pénombre’. Armed with four tracks of emotive synth-pop, the group returns with ‘Solitude’. Crisp beats and lovelorn lyrics characterise the title piece, a warbling melody weaving and winding its way through tear-streaked words. ‘Ce Monde’ takes a different direction. Keys are upbeat with just a touch of brooding while vocals are distant yet sensual. Maia J’s incredible vocal range comes to the fore on this record, nowhere more than in the deep and layered ‘Le Divan’. Drums scuttle and spike against flowing synthlines as lyrics smoulder with an inchoate intensity. The tone, and language, change for the finale. Arpeggiators rumble and the band shift to English for the elegance and energy of ‘Paralyzed’. Four beautifully crafted synth cuts from an incredibly talented trio.

They support programs that protect elephants, habitat, and the villagers that live with elephants in their “backyards” by reducing human-elephant conflict.The artist behind the single is Leonor, a DJ and producer from Guadalajara, Mexico who now resides in France. An upcoming star, he has released on Nein Records, Toolroom, and Tom Tom Disco while charting in top positions on Beatport and Juno. He is rapidly making a real impact on the scene and in heavy demand as both dj and producer.His fantastic single here is an organic and inventive track littered with the sound of jungle wildlife, indigenous percussion and vocal chants and loose house drums.
