Not so long ago, Argentinean Poulper (SXDNS146) and Lithuanian Aurum Miles joined forces to launch the promising label Quixotical Records, an upsurging platform driven by Disco and Techno influences infused with EBM flashes and Electro pieces.

For the forthcoming release of the already respected imprint, they bring you Ludviq, the head of Mexico-based label Bonkers. His "Disease" EP delivers two well-constructed originals and four alluring remixes made with love by Random Atlas (SXDNS155), MAN2.0 (SXDNS081), Chinosynth, and Poulper himself.

The track we were solicited to review/premiere was cooked by beloved-by-all duo Random Atlas. The Chileans based in Berlin took "Disease" to their lab and, using a fine-tuned combination of dark science and black magic, delivered a biting and pungent version. These guys never disappoint, either with their absurd originals or hot collaborations, their output is second to none. Here, for instance, they brought the solid original a more aggressive and menacing mood, filling it with eerie synth FXs and a more robust bassline. Kudos!

Following on from the celebrated first instalment, the second part of The Male Body Will Be Next compiles an entourage of daring sonic experiments, composed in response to bell hooks’ landmark book The Will to Change. Prompting artists and musicians to envision cross-gender solidarity, Osàre! Editions founder Elena Colombi presents an enrapturing, narrative album, conceptualised around collective transformation.

Resonating with hooks’ challenge to men to reclaim the sensitivity that patriarchy denies them, the name of the record arises from a photograph by Peter de Potter and Rebecca Salvadori’s film of the same title. In these depictions, naked flesh is exposed, made vulnerable and trembles with emotion as the fragility of masculine bodies are examined through the queer and female oppositional gaze. Transforming this visual language into musical expression, The Male Body Will Be Next swirls with punk vitriol, electrified noise, acid, electro and free-wheeling encounters charged by love, lust and limerence.

Gently plunking chords signal Pose Diva’s reimagining of lover’s rock before Sissy Fuss smashes in with a heavy-weight instrumental version of their erotic anthem ‘No Restraint’.
Made up of Turkish musician Etkin Çekin and Belarussian songstress Galina Ozeran, God is God delivers a gentle lullaby, while Low End Activist flirts with dark and brooding bass, shattering penetrating frequencies into luminous fragments. Riffing off the 2020 documentary about female early electronica pioneers, Loma Doom crafts a slowly oscillating drone zenith, the ultimate climax. In line with the conceptual underpinning, there are plenty of collaborations – Daytripper’s Riva and Sitar player Tommy Khosla, Lebanese experimentalist NAR and Swiss-French producer John Silvestre (AKA Typhon), as well as Colombi herself and trans author/activist Juno Roche. Within these partnerships, new modalities come alive as mediums, practices and perspectives are ignited and pushed in otherworldly, metamorphic directions.

There was a split second where the crew might have died, but as long a the ship's computer was able to sense that the ship was heading away from the proper flightpath, it was able to issue a course correction.
Madrid Rotten City imprint, run by Alvaro Cabana present Rotten City Vol.3 Remixes , and we premiering Curses's version of Skelesys's "Do You Know?". The result is a slow mo epic stomper which slowly and deliberately stomps on convention to leave a space on the dancefloor for you to fill.

Collectively known as Radial Gaze, St.Petersburg stalwart Andrey of Skotny Dvor club notoriety and brother Stas bring together the former’s dance floor moves knowledge with the latter’s background in sound design and musical direction. Having already released on recognized labels Eskimo, Calypso, Hard Fist and Belly Dance Services, the duo offer up a six piece track release consisting of two originals and enlisting a slew of talents for remix duties. 
Exceptional synthesis of both classic and new material - this is the brothers’ go to, as is evident on both 'Fugu Taste' and ‚Nido', with an added layer of mixing musical geography with tempo acrobatics. Salon des Amateurs resident Toulouse Low Trax and French producer La Mverte both take on 'Fugu Taste', reimagining it into a full on new wave exploration accenting its eerie murmurations and ominous synths, respectively. On the other side, we have Belly Dance Services chiefs Hanzo & Yaman reinterpret ‚Nido' in their usual manifold style infusing diverse soundscapes. Last and not least. My Favorite Robot alum and Marketing Music label owner Tim Paris gives ‚Nido' an uncanny dreamlike redo, filled with attention-grabbing async arpeggios and a tension-heavy build up and release.
