'Pebbles Mind Horrors' comes straight from beyond the grave. Two old Mijo & Theus Mago collaborations that were resurrected after 5 years of burial in the cementery of Ableton projects

The opener track gives the name to the EP, a reflection of a weird nightmare, where spoken language had been abandoned and people communicated exclusively through dance moves and binary code. Robust bass, desolated synthesizers, distorted voices, glitches, and a high sugar percussion set from Rocco Desentis bring the track to life.

Two of the most promising producers of the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene joined forces to deliver the forthcoming release of the respected label Espacio Cielo: Lucare (SXDNS175) and Aurum Miles present “Demonomania”, a devilish and intense EP featuring two spirited originals and three lively remixes provided with love by an international selection of top-notch artists: Mexico-born/France-based Leonor (SXDNS034), Spanish Lebollet (RASTROLIVE004) and Belgium duo Marching Machines.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, “demonomania” can be defined as “a delusion of being possessed by evil spirits”. The condition has surely not affected the lads but the same cannot be said of their synths: The sonority they conveyed sounds fiendish and infernal – undoubtedly, the dance floor will say thanks!

Premiered here, Leonor’s crushing remix of “Taste Of Your Mushroom”: In his interpretation, the mayor of Tournus opted for a darker instead of a more percussive (and characteristic) atmosphere, investing in a fatter bassline and ominous synth layers – the dance floor will also certainly say thanks!

Günce Acı (@gunceaci) makes her Factor City (@factorcity) debut with 3 excellent original tracks followed by solid remixes from Modular Project and Stockholm Youth.

Istanbul-based Dj/Producer Günce Acı has been spinning in many clubs, venues and festivals in Istanbul underground music scene since 2014 and recently in Europe. Influenced by Indie-dance, new wave, electronica and ebm. Her hypnotic pads, powerful bass lines and absurd melodies meet under the roof of her signature sound. She has already showed her talent in great labels such us Ombra INTL or Nein.
Here we have 3 new examples of her very personal and effective take on dance music. Her unique rendition is full of brazen rhythms, sharp beats and moving percussions. Powerful and sleazy bass lines. And hypnotic and mental synth stabs and pads.

The remixes come by Italian rising duo Modular Project. Their take on “Dream of the sirens” is a riveting and percussive ride. A perfectly crafted retouch.

And production team Stockholm Youth, formed by Stockholm Syndrome and Tronic Youth, who deliver a raw, distorted and darker version of “Exposure”.

"Gloomy and frightening, that’s how I imagine this piece. I won’t analyze it the same way as I always do, but I will tell you the story that I’ve heard while I was listening to it.
The detective comes to the crime scene, his every step resonates, he sees the girl's body, nauseating doubt, and bittersweet tension overwhelm him. There are swarms of thoughts running through his head, he cannot concentrate on the prevailing chaos caused by the killer. 
The screeching noise that is dormant in this ungodly space - intoxicates ones mind, prevents a man from thinking straight, from seeing the important details, but only becoming a part of that noise, no matter how disorienting it is, can help to unravel the gruesome details of this heinous crime. 
Once isolated from the flashing lights of the police beacons, never-ending roaming of the police officers, the cries of frightened people, and their incoherent stories, he finally begins to see everything through the eyes of the unrighteous. Suddenly that noise merges with the grim environment, another melody begins to dominate, the vague, but endlessly soothing, it becomes a solace to his ears and without any encouragement, lends a hand in putting the missing pieces of the puzzle together. 
Suddenly, everything is shed in a new light. A woman's voice becomes apparent, a simple echo from the past, a helping hand relentlessly pointing a finger at what is critical. 
Every vibration is a clue, a translucent path that must be followed and it must be done without any hesitation, even if it might lead him to a dead-end... 
We are all interested in secrets, inexplicable things, unexplored riddles, fantastic worlds beyond our comprehension. Zakmina starts the trip. Building on recent release on Nein and XXX, here he ploughs a thunder like bass chug that gradually builds in its intensity. It’s a perfect scene-setter for the sleazy funk that follows; Salto Honduras continues to make the conversion from DJ to producer with the dark and drum-heavy ‘Betonada’ while Pontias takes us to the edge of the universe on a rocket made of slo-mo techno with ‘Easter Eggs’. Slow, heavy and star- gazing sexy. Dig deeper for more smouldering grooves as Mike Sacchetti’s ‘Dead As Disco’ gets full- on psychedelic in an early 200's Ewan Pearson kind of way while Volta Cab brings this heady session to close with a series of fractured electroid beats, lavish sweeping pads and a grizzly analog bassline that anchors this track deep deep deep into the dance, the night and our psyches.

Penrose returns for the all-important 002. This one comes courtesy of Silicodisco. You may recognise him from recent Ombra outings. With fresh releases on the horizon with Rotten City and Roam Recordings; the Spaniard kicks off a busy summer with three incredible originals here for David Ponziano’s burgeoning Penrose label.

First up is ‘Angel Of Urano’. Taking us deep into the dancefloor where bluesy chords and a sexy, cat-like bassline create the feeling that you’re floating just an inch or two off the ground. ‘Ice Blue’ bounces between planets on a bassline made of pure electroid titanium and a groove crunchier than rusty space debris, the real pay-off is the trippy breakdown mid-way as molten synths whisk us into a fast lane we didn’t even know existed. ‘4 Only’ is a gnarled slab of crisp electro-inspired sweatiness. Intense and unrelenting, there’s a distinct early 2000s feel to the groove while the pace and mood have all the sultriness of a 2020 dark disco jam. 

Complete with a super creeper remix from Duro bossman Theus Mago, Penrose continue to show promise as one of this year’s most exciting new labels. Roll on 003!
