Djing around 5 years but being fresh blood in music production already grabbed the ox by the horns - analog gears and building the modular system. Amselmoor is Sebastian Selm, a name that’s build from two German words “Amsel” which means: Blackbird and “Moor” which refers to an uncultivated land. A dark sound blended with dry natural/organic elements. Amselmoor is a Berlin-based producer who draws inspirations from a range of styles such as old school Techno, New German Wave and 90’s House. He crafts his sound using analog synthesizers, field recording from his travels, layering multiple textures suffusing his sound with 
unique frequencies. This vast musical and cultural foundation it comes from Amselmoor’s interest in nature, anthropology and history.

[Tapes To Go #006] | Amselmoor - Tricoder [Original Mix]

Founded by MontCosmik and Alda (SXDNS095), two creative and respected artists of the so-called Dark Disco/Indie Dance scene, Nantes-based label CrowHunt Records is finally back to bring to life its fourth release (the second of the year), starting in digital format and followed by a limited batch of 200 copies only – first come, first served, peeps! 

The "Là et Maintenant" EP, delivered by the French duo Caporal (Aria.Z, synth, and Fred Caporal, vocals), consists of six EBM-New-Wave-Post-Punk-and-Electroclash-infused themes and showcases magnificently the artistry of the twosome. The French lyrics are definitely one of the highlights of the album and it would be unforgivable not to mention them here. Fred’s deep and imposing voice is definitely something.

Focusing on the dance floor – preferably a dark, sweaty, and packed one located in a forgotten basement somewhere in the shadows –, "Là et Maintenant" may have been released in the middle of the European summer, but it is not a sunny and fluffy album to be played in open airs or pool parties. In order to really absorb its raw and sharp sonority, one must do it surrounded by darkness.

It was hard to choose one to review/premiere, but after some deliberation, we opted for “Respire”, maybe the most interesting piece of the EP. The sometimes-sexy-sometimes-aggressive vocals combined with the fat bassline and the obscure synth layers result in a must-have musical masterpiece!

We here at Discobelle got the scoop on the exclusive premiere of track "Magia" taken from the upcoming @localsuicide And @cursesforever EP, which will be out tomorrow Friday March 22nd (500 hand stamped 12" vinyl only) via UK label @justtusk.

Tusk Wax 28 is a collaboration between NYC born, Berlin-based artist Curses and the otherworldly "techno-disco" Greek-German outfit Local Suicide. The pairing seems like a match made in heaven, especially seeing as both artists are known for exploring the darker side of dance music.

"Magia" kicks off the release and it's a steadfast and seductive piece of slo-mo disco with spaced out synths and eerie vocals that wouldn't be out of place in an 80's horror movie.

PRÉMIÈRE: Sequencers  - In CELLA [Fucanglong Files]

Playground Records (@playgroundrecords) starts 2021 without missing a beat. The ever-expanding Radial Gaze (@radialgaze) duo from Russia makes their debut on the label, loaded with frenetic rhythms, acid tribality and strident synthesis.

The first installment is the track 'Oracular Punch'. A rhythm of stabbing percussion that chases the response of some deity. As if following a rite with rising voices and dramatic modulations they ask the Pythoness to give an answer to the questions that are sought. Exorcist dance of deep surrender.

'Truly Wasted' is the second track and it doesn't lose momentum. Relentless with a great bouncing kick, sinister bass and acid melodies, sensual modulations go in an increase until exploding in a dense sonic layering. The melodies in Asian scales are getting sharp and tense until they go down again in a scattering of keyboard cushions. Without a doubt a different track which can be heard everywhere with a crazy combination of elements.

'Outward Tange' closes the delivery of originals with a flying but highly danceable track. A charming big bassline crosses a volatile arpeggio. A haunting joyful melody accompanies a stampede of tribal shouts that seems to unleash a horseback run down the hill. Like the musicalization of traveling through a landscape where the herd returns to the village after a happy victory. An ending of sweet melodies gives a hopeful tone and closes a conceptual aesthetic sound of the Ep.

The first remix comes from the hand of the Tel Aviv artist, Kino Todo who converts 'Oracular Punch' into a march of deep hypnotic roam. Making a constant repetition syncopated in eighth notes, sound layers are added generating altered states, leading us to an ecstatic dance. One of those tracks that looks for feets, chases you, entangles you and once it takes you it does not leave you until you are an exhausted prey surrendered to its captivating enchants.

Aristidez is in charge of remixing 'Truly Wasted'. With an infectious and slippery groove, a güiro in triplets takes us on a journey between minimalist and festive cadence, a small town guaracha celebration. The percussive trance takes you and does not leave you, the melodies lift you up and the devils come out to dance around the fire until dawn.
