PREMIERE: Montessori — Speed Dating (Original Mix) [Play Pal Music]

The roads were closed at every turn, there was no way out of this god forsaken place. Huge barricades blocked off each street, even the alley ways had been shut off with makeshift blockades. They'd gone round in circles for hours and hours trying to make their escape; for now they'd managed to give whoever was trailing them the slip, but they couldn't guarantee they wouldn't be found again.

After five successful stints, Mexico's Duro return for instalment number six of their flagship VA series 'Muy Duro'. As always they welcome a collection of artists who have a synergy with the label and its mission; both old faces and new. This time round they feature contributions from ID_UA & Berny, Hard Fist co-founder Cornelius Doctor, Alvaro Cabana, Colossio and Le Dame Noir's Arthur Johnson, who bring their signature sonic touches with sounds ranging from dark disco to broken beats and synth-driven electronics.

Latido records has its origin in the famous Mordisco Club parties (Granada, South of Spain) hosted by the dj duo and producers Mordisco (Atomnation, My Favorite Robots Records, Duro, Bedrocks, etc.). Artists such as Curses, Sascha Funke, Zombies in Miami, Red Axes or Jennifer Cardini among others have played at these parties. The Latido label is born from the characteristic sounds and influences of Mordisco Club.

With “Late Night Tortures” Latido welcomes the Italian producer Tulioxi with a pair of fantastic remixes courtesy of Roe Deers and Durand, who bring us their take on the Tulioxi's new Ep; a groovy and dark fusion of genres that fits perfectly in any kind of club or festival.
Tulioxi delivers three irresistible tracks that kick off nicely with 80s vibes. He moves effortlessly through cosmic melodies with a feeling of linear and minimal aesthetic reminiscent of italo, while the electric chords sit over percussive bases. A fantastic Ep with retro-futuristic tones.

As for the remixes, the second remix comes courtesy of the South of Spain based Durand, artist connected to electronic music from a very young age, developing an extensive career as a dj and club promoter and owner before starting to produce his own music only a couple of years ago. In this time he has already released excellent eps on Factor City, Nein Records, and one on Esthetique, played by the likes of The Hacker, Ivan Smagghe or Curses. In his remix for Tulioxi, Durand keeps the energetic vibes of the original alive with a pulsing bassline, sharp synths and overwhelming fx.

With "Late Night Tortures", Tulioxi manage to convey a message of musical relevance for a dystopian future where dancing will be a way of giving meaning to our lives. Not to be missed.

Russian Chandeliers is Niko Rapsis (FringeSociety, Modern Ruin) and Julian Grefe (Pink Skull, Clean Plate). Originally hailing from Athens and Philadelphia respectively, the duo met in 2014 in Berlin… where they both still reside and share a studio space. Their collaborative project, sprung from a mutual love of all things unsavory and unfun, saw its inaugural release on New Yorks SAMO records. For their follow up on Esthetique, these two dapper lifers offer up an EP of paranoid, muscular analog grooves fit for filthy basement ragers.

FIRST LISTEN_Russian Chandeliers - No More Silos (Original Mix)

Let’s support this, shall we? Buenos Aires-based platform Slow Cycle presents the first release of its label segment. Doing the honours, Argentinian born, but currently residing in Mexico artist Cali Burton, whose previous works on Espacio Cielo, Logia, and Coquelicot turned the young producer into an “artist to watch” amid the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene. “Sine Qua Non” is made up of two well-constructed originals and three interesting remixes made with love by Alex Aguayo (FREEDL038 as Mahkina), Bonnie Spacey and Favio Inker, one of the Slow Cycle’s bosses.

Premiered here, Bonnie Spacey’s take of “Feeling”. The French artist, founder of the respected imprint Critical Monday, turned the original into a more embodied piece. The playful synth layer is still there, but the soothing aura brought by the vocals vanished, being replaced by a more ominous and, yes, dark atmosphere.

The excellent mastering made by our dear friend Ricardo Ruben (SXDNS103) cannot go unmentioned.

Bonkers calling their third year as a record label, for the celebration is going to be released a very special six track compilation, for the first time on Vinyl 12”, bringing lots of new astounding artists to the label and also a very different sound to what you might have heard two years back. Head Label Ludviq and rising artist Technicism brings “Alternate State” a dark and trippy track, with psychedelic nuances, dynamic percussions and a rough bassline. Perfectly made for a vinyl release, bringing a very unique sound to the VA.

PREMIERE | Elninodiablo - Vaugahyde (Aurum Miles Remix) [El Nino Diablo Music] 2022

Enjanzea2 (@enjanzea2), a duo formed by Javier Rascan and Ricardo Jain from Chihuahua Mexico lands on the 4th edition of our Innisfallen Series (@innisfallenrecords). The project's proposal travels between acid and spatial monophonic sounds, inspired by techno, house and electro. This great piece wouldn't be here without Ruary's (@ruaryvargas) hand which gathered all of these electronic elements together in "Pazuzu."

The EP includes two interesting remixes, one by Javier Ferreira (@javierferreira), a multi-instrumentalist and music producer widely recognised for his energetic and rhythmic productions within his already distinguished sound range.

Cantor, a San Francisco-based musician and producer, contributes a production inspired by Detroit techno, punk, and new wave rhythms, which, combined with acid, string chaos, and broken cymbals, creates a unique piece that perfectly complements Vongold's already beloved vocals.
