Let's start this review by talking first about the awesome name of these dudes, shall we? Mullet Bros is one of the most creative and spectacular aliases we have ever seen! And no, this accolade has no connection to the fact that dinosaurs are famous for having worn mullets back in the day. The duo, formed by seasoned @aurelien-stireg & @christian_d, still at the beginning of their activities playing/producing together, made their debut a couple of months ago on KADETT MUSIC with a 3-original EP called "Vice City". The positive feedback made Danny K7, the label boss, invite a couple of friends to deliver their insightful interpretations in order to bring to life a remixed version of "Vice City": Endrik Schroeder, David Body, and Mr. K7 himself exploited their most characteristic influences to provide engaging translations of the Bros' cuts.

The track we were solicited to premiere comes from the restless mind & hands of Liège-based artist David Body who, at a steady pace, has been becoming one of the most prolific and hottest acts amid the Nu Disco/Indie Dance scene with a string of solid works published on Spanish Espacio Cielo, French Mélopée, German Exploited, and Belgian KADETT itself, for instance.

For his take on "Oxygen8", he decided to spice things up a little bit: First, going from 118 to 126 BPM. Second, ripping off the Trance-like/trippy aura of the original and replacing it with a more Hi-NRG-infused-with-Italo-Disco-mood-like atmosphere. The result is a peak-time beast devoted to triggering chaos and disorder (the good types, though) on the dance floor.

Paisley Dark Records are buzzing to annouce the labels fifth release proper,
Norra Linjen, a haunting primetime techno bomb by Machine Soul, aka Robert
Folkesson. This follows previous releases by Dan Wainwraight, From Beyond,
UFO Club and the 10” vinyl EP from Matt Gunn.

Norra Linjen (Northern Lights) is accompanied by two electrifying remixes. The
first being from Man2.0 (Nein Records) who delivers an old school techno vibe
whislt sounding like the future has arrived early.

The second remix, the aptly named “Rave Remake mix), courtesy of When
Disco Goes Wrong’s head honcho Mindbender, sees chilling synth riffs gliding
effortlessly over bubbling 303 acid lines.

Hailing from the catacombs of Paris, Mon cher Guy and Zaratustra are joining forces in this new release! After throwing multiple parties with their collective Orchessons, and releasing tracks on various labels, they decided to gather in the studio to practice some musical witchcraft.
Blending electronic sonorities with some hints of 80s rock, they made extensive use of electric guitars, vintage drums and old-school synthesizers to create a nostalgic and mesmerizing feel. Despite all tracks being set in a dreamy and a nocturnal atmosphere, with the hurling wolves and vampires of « Night Creatures », or the eerie atmosphere of « Incantations », this EP is about melancholy, from « White Magic » opening the dance, full of hope and cheesiness, to the irrevocable « Nevermore » closing it.
Giving a trancy twist to « White Magic », we’re super pleased to welcome Brandski for the first time on the label, with this club-ready remix! And because we couldn't resist putting our fingers in the mix, label boi Austher also gave his epic Italo touch to « Night Creatures »

Let's go on a trip through the Bizzarro Universe.
The Hamburg-based producer couple Bizzarro Universe is back on Verflixt Music for their third release. "Speed of Light" is a perfect rollin’ space track. The Bizzarros prove their sense for the dancefloor with a track for the peak time. Keeping the Italo vibes, they delight an uncompromising piece. The female robotic voice in the breaks lets no clue, that you're on a flight through space & time, and the drop comes in like your spaceship hits Speed of Light: Powerful and with a Big Bang.
Remix action comes from Louis de Tomaso (Ritmo Fatale) and David Body (Melopee Records, Exploited). Louis gives us a more trancy vision, with slightly 90s influences and those synth melodies he likes. David delivers a more Italo House version with a softer piano synth, perfect for the late summer!

Rhine-Main dance music wizard Chinaski sprinkles his dark-disco-ish vibes on Neurotiker's track Ojos Distantes, which comes as part of Neurotiker's The Dream Machine EP on Ritmo Fatale. A lush bass line combined with bleepy disco-chords make Chinaski's approach an intriguing spaced-out journey through and into the genre with the artist delivering a vibe one wants to move his/her waistline to the sexy bass line. If this is the start of 2021 then it raised the bars high for a better year, musically as well as for dance- and club culture.

Born in 1986, lulled by the 80s tones, David Body began his little DJ career with italo disco influences in 2007.
He then surfed the wave of nu-disco with projects like Pleasure Machines and La Disco Mafia before starting a solo carrier in 2014.
Resident DJ of the big club Le Cadran in Liege, he has the chance to share the desk with the biggest names : Miss Kittin, Booka Shade, Etienne de Crecy, Mr Oizo, Jennifer Cardini, Yuksek, The Magician, Charlotte de White...
His ears are now ready to compose their own sounds, always with these very synthesized 80s italo vibes.
Very influenced by artists such as Tensnake, Ten Ven or The Swiss, he launched his discography in 2020 with the Belgian label Kadett Musik.
Other releases followed on Endless Music, Ripe Pear Records, Mélopée Records, Full Flight Records, Discoscuro Factory Records...
