Red stained lips, narrowed eyes framed by thick black lashes, and a confidence that could cut through any situation. Wherever she went people quivered at her presence; her authority penetrated every room she entered. She'd always had that effect, especially on men; who could ever resist a dominating force like her?

Ahead of the Berlin-based duo parting ways after five years, and Francesco continuing to steer the ship solo, Younger Than Me are coming correct with the fourth release on their 90's Wax imprint, a sub-label of UK-based imprint Tusk Wax. Like their last instalment with Skatebård, this one is another collaborative EP, which sees our R$N family member and ITI boss Timothy Clerkin joining them, alongside a pioneer of the Italian progressive house era, Francesco Farfa. The two tracks with the latter, 'Slave Master' and 'Glory Hole', channel their love of 90s rave and progressive house, made to be played in a dark, sweaty basements.

Correspondant welcome Belgian talent John Noseda to the family with this epic rainbow of an EP: ‘Forever In A Dream’. Added fuel comes from a turbo charged remix of ‘Used Future’ by DJ City and cosmic b-girl twist of ‘Mind Control’ from Paula Tape.

Paisley Dark Records are buzzing to annouce the labels fifth release proper, Norra Linjen, a haunting primetime techno bomb by "The Machine Soul" aka Robert Folkesson. This follows previous releases by Dan Wainwraight, From Beyond, UFO Club and the 10” vinyl EP from Matt Gunn. 
Norra Linjen (Northern Lights) is accompanied by two electrifying remixes. The first being from Man2.0 (Nein Records) who delivers an old school techno vibe whislt sounding like the future has arrived early. 
The second remix, the aptly named “Rave Remake mix, courtesy of When Disco Goes Wrong’s head honcho Mindbender, sees chilling synth riffs gliding effortlessly over bubbling 303 acid lines.

Pre-rave jitters had set in; her stomach was doing somersaults and her legs felt like jelly. These feelings were fuelled by excitement and anticipation, but she still had no idea what to expect of the evening, it was all completely new to her. Friends had told her about the wonders of these underground parties but she really had to see it for herself, at the moment it felt like an imaginary utopia, a place too perfect to actually exist...

Swedish producers Viktor and Henrik are the minds behind Elfenberg. Having released music on the likes of Bordello A Parigi, Wrong Era, Trampoliner and Rotten City Records, to name a few, the pair now take their creations to Barcelona's Playground Records for A Cow Called Belle. Harking back to the rave and acid house sounds of the early 90s, the three original cuts marry rolling grooves and squelchy, driving synth lines, which are pushed further into trance-inducing territory by Iñigo Vontier and Juan MacLean who take care of the remixes.

The interesting U’re Guay Records brings to life its Vol. 39 presenting Addi de la Cruz aka Umvral (FREEDL018/046), owner of the dangerous and lethal Mexican label Veneno. Hailing from Mexico City, Umvral has been steadily developing quite a solid work as A&R, DJ, and producer, having achieved both local and international recognition not only because of his undeniable talent but also charisma and competence. His works have already appeared on some of the most respected imprints of the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene such as Bonkers, Controlla, Logia, Emerald & Doreen, Quixotical, and his very own Veneno, for instance.

For his debut on the Montevideo-based platform, Addi decided to explore his Trance and Techno influences delivering two fat & smelly peak-time originals. On the remixes duties, Aleito, Cu Da Curuxa, and Parallel (SXDNS319) brought their own traits to the party.

Premiered here, “Viva La Trance” is definitely that kind of track that is devoted to wreaking havoc on the dance floor. Its acid and frenzied atmosphere is mainly established by throbbing and nervous synth layers topped with bleepy and playful laser-like sound effects. Yes, the 134-BPM pace helps a lot to set the mood!

Mahkina is the alter ego of Mexico producer Alex Aguayo. In this project, he offers a perspective of a mixture between industrial sounds, classic rave drum sequences, and atmospheric trance grooves for clubbing purposes and gives us a look back into the 90s classic old-school vibes. The EP is composed of three original songs by Mahkina and three remixes made by: Imanol, Gala and Manuel Sahagun.

Following on from Tu Sei Pazza, Daniel Monaco returns to the Bordello with the bitter taste of the TB303 on his tongue. Acid Maria smoulders with the intensity of a Belgian new beat banger circa 1989. Smoky words whisper over rusted rhythms before the fog and strobe take hold. Cold strings haunt with snaking coils of 303 squawk growing ever bolder in this intense track. The flip is divided into two very different remixes. First up is Curses who approaches the piece in his own unique way. The fanfare and frigid lines of the original are expanded. Strings come care of guitars as a bright synth wave reimaging unfolds, a reimaging with one of the most daring breaks you are likely to ever hear. Younger Than Me close. This interpretation adds a fevered tone to the original. BPMs rise and pitches are pushed while chilly notes soon balloon into a frenzy to bring a full floor energy. Three tracks born to bring brimming basements into the beyond.

Mostly known for his works with the Ears on Earth label and BF Treatment duo, JAI does what he usually does best on his edit of Magic Fly; Mixing up ravey 90’s sounds with a modern twist. Lau Tropico then proceeds with his take on Djulu, that eases us for the heavier load coming in later. Aaron Maple do his usual magic that we’ve all been accustomed to with his edit of This Is A Sound. A sure-fire party starter that’ll make even the most modest guest make this feet do a 1-2 step. Ramin and Reda continues on, where Aaron left us, with their heavily middle-eastern inspired Dehati and guides us for our final number by the man behind the operation; Miro-Benji. The release ends with, in his own words, an “anti-edit” of Love Will Tear Us Apart. One of those tracks that is perfect as an ender but still leaves the listener urging for more.
