The music journalist who's hailing from Marseille is a well established figure in the french music scene having co-founded arts & culture magazine Journal Ventilo and writing for Paris' finest Gonzaï magazine. 

Because of an inner need to share music in a different way and to get involved in the indie dance / leftfield disco scene he started deejaying in 2019 and launched his own mix series 'Upcoming Boogie' &  'Tribalism'.

Disco Suicide Mix Series 038 - Terence Pill

From Lithuania, based in Vilnius - Aurum Miles aka. Aurimas Milesinas is producer, songwriter, DJ and head of the Quixotical Records.

Born in the late '80s with a Queen "A Kind of Magic" vinyl in the hands.  HIs whole childhood he was inspired by classic rock and shoegazing brit music. Later discovering the world of electronic sounds by touching JUNO-6 for the first time, which made a substantial effect in his future life. 

After a lot of years of practicing playing guitar, keyboards, drums, and everything that makes sounds, Aurum Miles finally started producing some kind of weird electronic music combining rock, psychedelic and electronic sounds. 

Never settle to one style, always experimenting with compositions of different types of sounds - his production comes from pink to dark, from vanilla to chocolate...or...whatever.  In short - you never know what to expect from Aurum Miles.

Counterterraism Guest Mix 215: Aurum Miles

The fifth EP of the British label Paisley Dark, wisely curated by John Paynter (SXDNS123), presents Robert Folkesson aka The Machine Soul. For the occasion, the Stockholm-based producer brought the single “Norra Linjen”, which comes accompanied by frenzied remixes by MAN2.0 (SXDNS081/FREEDL002) and Mindbender.

Having appeared previously on EKORD, When Disco Goes Wrong, and Machine Soul Records (yeah, you guessed right, it’s his own label), Robert’s debut on Paisley was actually last year on “Paisley Dark Edits Box 3”, a two-track “name your price” Bandcamp-only release. The positive feedback his track received paved the way for his return.

Premiered here, the original brings Robert carefully handling heavy acid weaponry and successfully pairing it with deep and dreamy synth layers plus ethereal and mesmerising pad lines. The result is a well-constructed emotive cut devoted to triggering big smiles on your face while dancing to it.

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, adventure is defined as “an unusual, exciting, and possibly dangerous activity, such as a trip or experience, or the excitement produced by such an activity”. And inspired by the thrill of his adventurous lifestyle, Poulper (SXDNS146/FREEDL028) finally makes his debut on Logia Records with “Aventura”, a six-track EP featuring three dark & misty originals – one in collaboration with Della – and three powerful remixes made with love by a true dream team of acclaimed artists: Mexican Tiempo De Maldad (SXDNS173/FREEDL008), Spanish Arkademode (RASTROLIVE007), and Argentinean Balam (SXDNS048).

Premiered here, the title track opens the EP with the stamina and attitude a dance floor-oriented cut needs to have. Atmospheric and trippy, “Aventura” fuses in its core some of the most distinct aspects of Poulper’s sonority: A synth bash combined with percussive elements galvanized with bonfires on the beach and mountain camping.

Critical Monday’s 14 Chapter is ready to fly, and this is a big one, peeps: Australian hot act Iain Mac aka Stockholm Syndrome (SXDNS165) debuts on the rising French label, curated with iron fist and love by Bonnie Spacey, with two interesting cuts: The dance floor banger “Liberty & Pursuit” and the introspective slo-mo “Servitude”, the one we were solicited to premiere, by the way. The two originals by themselves would be already more than enough to make the fans of dark grooves consider the release an indispensable one, then they check the artists on the remix duties – Chinaski, the headliner of our 1st event after the lockdown (https://ra.co/events/1527252), and Back From The Wave, part of our Takeover on Espacio Cielo (https://sxdns.de/takeover/002) –, that’s when they realise there’s no other option besides considering the release an indispensable one.

“Servitude” is a spookiness-infused piece with an ominous and frightening atmosphere devoted to sending shivers down the spine especially because of its eerie piano line – played by Pennywise –, and creepy vocals – sung by Pinhead. All joking aside, what we have here is another example of Iain’s versatility and creativity, no wonder he is considered one of the big guns amid the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene.
