"Good Skills“ is keeping its promise to represent the noise of local youth. This time Vilnius based label offers a couple of remixes and a remaster for rising Lithuanian electronica artist Palmės Žiedas and his track “Fhadi“. 

Originally released at the very end of 2020, “Fhadi” is a psychotic electronic piece with mysterious lyrical message about a man, who was trapped in a dragon’s lair. Track came out with a great music video, soaked with lo-fi aesthetics, where Palmės Žiedas was singing and playing synths in the woods and was well received by local melancholic electronica fans. Hopefully, the international crowd will appreciate the imaginary story of “Fhadi” too.

Co-boss of well-respected "Hard Fist” Tushen Raï happily picked up the task of turning “Fhadi“ into a dancefloor piece and took it for a trip to unknown desserts somewhere in the east. Sounds tight!

For the first remix for his own label, Roe Deers did what he knows best. Bass driven, a bit heated, powerful and fierce execution of “Fhadi” should work great at the peak of your set.

Oranges on random trees and layers of exotic melodies set the creative fire inside us as we were driving “Blue diamond” to our dreamy path, to the journey into the first “island” - Preila, Lithuania. Curated by none other than future Lithuania’s President and Vice-President, Roe Deers (SXDNS138) and Titas Motuzas, Good Skills presents its brand-new VA release: “Sekta”, a five-track EP devoted to showcasing the finest of what the country has to offer when it comes to underground electronic music. Shurmin Nikita, Zakmina feat. EGOMAŠINA, Deserted Island, Shkema, and Bojarchük spared no efforts to deliver high-quality themes to the compilation by presenting their own characteristic sonorities that resulted in a rich tapestry of inventiveness and ingenuity – exactly what the label has envisioned since its foundation in 2019.

The track we were solicited to premiere comes from the uneasy mind of “weird producer and weird DJ” Shkema, whose most notable previous works can be found on NEIN Records, City Noises, and Good Skills itself.

For his contribution to the VA, he created “Vaikų Ligoninė” (meaning “Children's Hospital” in English); “Shkema at his best”, according to the PR text: Ghostly vocals, pitched drums, and an unpredictable flow tells another weird story from a parallel universe – his.

Superkoloritas is an electronic retro nostalgia duo from Vilnius. Their tune “Šokim Šokim” pays tribute to the common theme in Lithuanian folklore about accidentally finding the party of devils and dancing with them all night long. Producer and DJ Shkema is no stranger to such encounters. He remixed “Šokim Šokim” and turned a fairy tale disco tune into a psychedelic first person experience of dancing with the devil itself. Of course it is on the verge of losing your mind, but that’s what a really hellish party is all about.

Marching across the plains, they moved with pride and precision amidst the outback which was perilous for such magnificent creatures. They had become used to the trials and tribulations of the country, yet as the rain fell and the trotted onwards across the vast expanse of ashy green and brown they could not help but fear the worst. Each elephant was hot property and very much in demand. Cars hot tailed them along dusty desert roads and rocky paths whilst hunters watched on with an evil eye. They were each as twisted as the next and deserved the same feat. 

Eyes of Others is set to release a new EP via Edinburgh based record label Paradise Palms, an off centre, eclectic electronic focussed label which continues to grow. The EP is rounded off by a remix from Manfredas, a firm favourite.
