So this release started with Jamie putting out at a video on fb, with him and Blavatsky in the studio. 
Jamie shouting av it fuckin av it over and over. 
Of course I sampled it, it always good to have things to mock Jamie with. 
Anyway I made a track with the sample and a short video, posted it on Jamies FB wall. And to my surprise people wrote me messages that they needed that track for the next gig. Darren Bell was one of them.
So here we are, we made an EP. Remixes by my Co-label boss Mindbender  and Jezzebell.

Spanish artist James Rod joins Roam Recordings with two original mid tempo driving psychedelic offerings. The title track Baila con Satán features a warped vocal backed by an energetic swirl of electronic mischief. Metatrone goes deeper with hypnotic trance inducing arpeggios and moving synth work. Duncan Gray returns to Roam with two remixes - one for each original. Duncan’s take on Baila con Satán keeps the psychedelic vibe of the ep but put it into more chill territory with live bass and guitar echoing about the ether. By contrast, Duncan Gray’s remix of Metatrone picks up the tempo and brings the acid.

Out now on Tronik Youth’s (SXDNS050/TAKEOVER001) imprint, another producer still at the beginning of his endeavours through the music jungle: Hailing from Las Calles, Argentina, Bit Marten had his first tracks published on Maleza in 2020 and 2021 and made his debut on NEIN last year with an Acid-meets-Latinity EP. His brand-new “Mountains & Seas” repeats the formula of its predecessor and showcases the evolution of his sonority which now depicts a higher level of complexity in comparison to his previous works. To prove the point: “First Time” secured a place for Marten on “Nein Ten”, the disputed 10th-anniversary celebratory compilation of the label.

Premiered here, “Powerful Vibes” comes with a naughty and playful aura which invites the audience to the dance floor with a siren-song-like effect. The bouncy bassline sets the tone allied with groovy percussive elements and shards of acid. The speech vocals cannot go unmentioned due to the House-ish vibe it brings to the theme.

Our next installment is delivered by the London based DJ and producer Farloh.

While drawing influences from his 90’s house heroes and indie disco contemporaries, in the studio, he never compromises to explore new boundaries by utilizing his own vocals and playing with unique song arrangements while exploring sounds across the downtempo stratosphere, from slow kaleidoscopic hypnotic dances to chugger-heavenly club heaters.

Lisbon-based Rui Maia assumes his Mirror People alter ego for a fresh new EP on his own Belong Records that features a collaboration with vocalist Michelle Bee.

Maia's music has come on quality labels like Permanent Vacation, Discotexas and Toy Tonics and he has remixed the likes of Hard Ton and Jesse Oliver to great effect. Each time he steps out he shows his multi-layered and versatile sound and does so again here with an EP that includes floor-ready tunes as well as an epic ambient opus.

The opening track ‘Human’ was done in collaboration with London-based singer Michelle Bee who has worked with her own band The Rotary Fifth as well as Emperor Machine and a/jus/ted. Her spine-tingling vocals bring a heavenly feel to the deep rolling beats. Lush synth work layers in further cosmic energy and a warm bassline holds it all together. Then comes 'Sea of Possibilities', a lush electronic instrumental with a playful melodic bassline. Swirling pads expand the track into an infinite night sky with you at the centre, lost in a star-gazing reverie.

Last of all is a 22-minute long piece of conceptual ambient electronic music called 'Comboios Amarelos', which means 'yellow trains'. It's an ever-shifting sonic landscape with meticulous synth craft front and centre. Implied rhythms introspective moods to more optimistic atmospheres.

This is a powerful EP with two very different sides.

PREMIERE: Mirror People - Sea of Possibilities [BELONG]

LuLúxpo's Paradise Children is a label dedicated to our inner free child. The vibrant and colourful back catalogue evinces good music's power in offering us cathartic emancipation. Previous releases have come from Lemar Cornage, Radial Gaze and Eftorsom, amongst others. Now, his second appearance on the label is Paris-based talent Eric Labbé, a.k.a Poison Gauchiste. 

The pairing between the artist and label here is cogent. Poison Gauchiste has a flair for expressive, free-flowing sonics that pepper the Paradise Children catalogue and 'Musique Pour Monter En Haut' slots in neatly as the label's offering. 

The record references René Daumal's unfinished novel, 'Le Mont Analogue'. As such, it explores the thesis that a meld of music and psychedelia carries the power to augment cognition, allowing for the transportation of human beings to a higher plane. 

House and Disco tropes are drawn upon, while synths, guitars and electronic drums form a rich and captivating tapestry. Organic tones are contrasted against synthetic FX, which gives the record an esoteric edge while astute recording and arrangement make the journey easy on the ear. 

The package includes three remixes - the first of which is a spectral lullaby courtesy of Ravage Sentimental. Acid Washed also gives 'Judith Pancake' and Italo / Indie edge before La Mverte Slowly Baked Remix unfurls in a languid, swampy fashion bringing a transcendental trip to an end.
