Our next instalment is delivered by the London based DJ and producer Farloh.

While drawing influences from his 90’s house heroes and indie disco contemporaries, in the studio, he never compromises to explore new boundaries by utilising his own vocals and playing with unique song arrangements while exploring sounds across the downtempo stratosphere, from slow kaleidoscopic hypnotic dances to chugger-heavenly club heaters.

Hailing from Saint Brieuc, France, Estuary Tapes kicks off its story by bringing to life a bold eleven-track compilation. On board: Tabensi, Théo Muller, and Transe Ar Gwez, the guides of the journey, plus Los Pashminas, A-Tweed (SXDNS222), Oltrefuturo, Kendu Bari, Shjva, XCI, Isabel Del Bosco, and Orphic – a true constellation of young and talented producers from various corners of this unfair and doomed little planet of ours who spared no efforts to bring the best of their games for the compilation.

From dusk till dawn, from darkness to light, the release encompasses many a genre and aims nothing but to please the fans of high-quality underground electronic music out there.

Premiered here, the stunning closing theme of the VA comes from the mastermind of the creative Portuguese virtuoso XCI. Named after the Greek god of fire, who is best known for defying his Olympian counterparts by stealing fire from them and giving it to humanity in the form of technology, knowledge, and more generally civilization, “Prometheus” comes packed with a magnificent cosmic and starry aura, as if its mesmerising synth layers were paying a tribute to the beautiful sky of Athens in 3000 BCE.

Working with old friends is always a joyous thing so Optimo Music is delighted to be releasing the new EP from our old friend Facets. Boris has been coming to our New York gigs for as long as I can remember and always brings a great energy. That energy flows over into his music. EBM has become a much abused term in recent times but here are some tracks exploring that EBM DNA where the creator 100% knows that history and what they are doing. Taking that knowledge and bringing that sound right up to date. We asked Boris for some notes on the tracks.

He said -

All three tracks spread across different genres I like and each has its own unique type of energy. 

“Noć,” which includes haunting Serbian vocals from Marija Kovacevic and lyrics by Jesus Martinez, has an arpeggiated sequence along with a new wave-esque bassline. 

“Breakable” is a driving synth track that used lots of modulation accompanied by a 12-bit drum machine. 

Finally, “Reveal Yourself” is an EBM track on which I incorporated my own vocals for the first time, as well as lyrics that came from a vivid dream I had.

It's a pleasure for us to present one of the most awaited albums of the MM Saturns saga, a record on which we have been working for almost 3 years, and it finally sees the light.

Corben introduces us to "Peachland," an introspective retro-futuristic journey where early electro and downtempo go hand in hand in order to create a cybernetic vision of the '80s subculture. It's like an inner spaceship that immerses you in infinite space, allowing you to reach unknown universes. 

Pure no-wave nostalgia filled with contagious vocoders and hypnotic synthesizers that shape a dreamlike and unsettling landscape, in which Corben shows us what could be the most sentimental and human side of an imaginary and futuristic artificial intelligence.
