Samo Records happy to welcome UK-based artist KMBN to the catalog. New Yorker inprint been appreciating his work over the years and are thrilled to have him on board. “Never Wanted to Dance” offers 4 original tracks reminiscent of the spirit and energy of the New Beat and Electro sound we all love.
The title track “Never Wanted to Dance” lures you in with slow darkwave synth arpeggiation, along with haunting vocals from Sean Goldring.
Our choice here “IDrank” embarks on a countdown to synth module frenzy, perfect for peak-time debauchery.
Next up is “Some Scary Entity Thing,” which pays homage to a Belgium New Beat anthem. The seductive acid synth line will make you want to lose yourself in this future classic.
“Waiting for You,” an electro-hysteric track with dystopian vocals, closes out the release.

Drum Tales is a new upcoming name in Lithuanian alternative scene. “Distorted Faces” is his debut on Good Skills - an EP coming out August 2023. Three very different original tracks and remixes from greats, who don’t require further introduction - Autarkic & Zillas on Acid.

Three originals show full spectrum of dance music and perfectly sum up sound of Vilnius nowadays. We’ve got oldtown vibe lyrics-driven indie track “Distorted Faces”, a big room banger “Inner Voices” influenced by Vilnius’s uptown scene and “Waiting for the Sun” which is somewhere in the middle.

So let us introduce you to Drum Tales. He’s here to stay. Apart from serving juicy bangers, which he produces on Fruity Loops, this dude can cut your hair or pour you a pint at the coolest bar in the heart of Vilnius. Definitely someone you want as a friend!

John Parsley returns to Playground Records with a narcotic Ep, loaded with modular synthesis and rough textures. 3 original tracks accompanied by a raver remix by Moroccan artist Zaatar زَعْتَر.

Big and fat basslines melted into acid sounds that bounce back and forth, breaks, the lab is up and running, the machinery is working, the lysergy takes over the scene as the jungle percussions burst in. Lost in space we are better off.

Another brick hits the rich catalogue wall of the super cool Argentinian imprint Logia Records: Doing the honours, Missing Name, a promising and skilled producer based in Tuxtla Gutierrez whose previous deeds were put out on Phisica, Fibonacci, and Logia itself. For his freshest endeavour, he brought to life two spot-on originals and invited a couple of chums for the remix quest: Playa Del Karma, one of the label bosses, by the way, and H, an obscure hecho-en-Mexico DJ & live project led by Oswaldo Pichardo. 

The mastermind behind the remix we selected to premiere has been drawing attention amid the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene not only because of his sharp curating ears but also his second-to-none production skills allied with sophisticated creativity. Playa Del Karma’s interpretation of “Move It Snap” brings the theme to a less acid and groovier realm, straight to the peak time. Still fat and dark, but without the heavy doses of EBM of the original, the remix is definitely one of the highlights of the release.

Welcome to "Noche" , the new release from Modula! Produced by Viktoria Jauregui, DJ and founding member of Modula, it presents four tracks of pure indie dance. Its dark and fun sound captivates the dance floor.

Vik Jauregui, DJ and producer brings us two moments from the party. "4 AM", pure dark disco with melodic touches, full of deep bass, furious drums, ritualistic synthesizers and voices from other worlds that trap and distort time and space. There is a surprising chopping of voices - typical of Vik productions - that contribute to the nocturnal confusion of dark sunglassed early mornings. A hinge track that helps mark the path of sound hypnosis.

For its fourth delivery, the promising Buenos Aires/Madrid-based imprint Modula welcomes back skilled – and also promising – producer Viktoria Jauregui. Hailing from La Plata, Argentina, Viktoria was present on Modula’s debut release with the complex and heated cut “Quiero”, part of the six-track compilation “Sortilegios”. After appearing on other VAs on TeQwave and Kyma Komplex, she finally has an EP to call her own filled with what she understands as electronic music for the intelligent dance floors out there: absolutely no fluffiness or pink flamingos, only groovy and highly danceable dark vibes. On the remix duties, Ludmila Fuks (SXDNS361) and V.C.I. Premiered here, the latter’s interpretation.

The name of the Argentinian duo stands for Voltage Controlled Illusion. Creative, as their very own productions, both originals and reworks. For their take on “8 AM”, for instance, the lads deployed their sharp resourcefulness by keeping the aforementioned groovy and highly danceable dark vibes of the original but covered it now with a proper amount of acid.

Fundado en 2023, Modula es un sello de música y un colectivo de artistas con una propuesta única en la escena electrónica de Buenos Aires y Madrid. Su estética sonora se pueden asociar al indie dance, al dark disco o al melodic techno, pero la esencia fundamental de su música son sus condiciones de producción: el uso de sintetizadores analógicos, secuenciadores, máquinas de ritmo y otros dispositivos hardware que utilizan lxs artistas que pertenecen al sello para producir e interpretar su música. Allí es donde Modula encuentra su identidad: La exploración sonora, la búsqueda estética y el tiempo dedicado a procesos artesanales de generación de la música difieren de los acelerados procesos actuales de producción electrónica y ubican a lxs participantes del sello en el radar internacional.

Founded in 2023, Modula is a music label and a collective of artists with a unique proposal in the electronic scene of Buenos Aires and Madrid. Their sound aesthetics can be associated with indie dance, dark disco or melodic techno, but the fundamental essence of their music is its production conditions: the use of analog synthesizers, sequencers, rhythm machines and other hardware devices used by artists  who belong to the label to produce and perform their music. That is where Modula finds its identity: The sound exploration, the aesthetic search and the time dedicated to artisanal processes of music generation differ from the current accelerated processes of electronic production and place the label's participants on the international radar.
