We’re thrilled (and a little emotional) to celebrate 10 years of MM Discos. For the occasion, we’ve put together a selection of over 30 tracks from a wide range of artists — some who’ve been with us since the very beginning, others who’ve shaped our sound, many we’ve long admired, and a few who are definitely going to make a lot of noise in the near future.

Talking about MM Discos inevitably takes us back to Erkstrasse 19 — the place where it all started to take shape. Our base camp, where those endless afterhour sessions took place, spinning records for hours on end, playing whatever the hell we felt like. Out of that chaos, the MM Discos identity was born. Herr. Gross, wherever you are, sorry for all the noise :P.

If there’s one word that defines everything we’ve done, it’s music. We’ve always run away from trends and genres to craft our own soundtrack — one where disco, house, techno, breaks, pop, dub, electro, african rhythms, synth and rock all coexist freely. Basically, whatever moved us at the time.

That’s always been the MM Discos way. Balearic? Maybe. But really, it’s more about freedom — no rules, no labels, just pure musical instinct. Over the years, we’ve released what we truly believe deserves to be heard, no matter the style, no matter the hype.

Staying true to that spirit, this anniversary release comes in three volumes — a proper “sonic tutti-frutti” that you simply won’t be able to escape.

In this first volume, we move through a spectrum of sounds — from laid-back mid-tempo grooves to more upbeat, house-driven rhythms infused with that unmistakable Balearic touch.

Originally from Merida, Venezuela, Andres pursued his musical trajectory for years in London and Berlin before recently settling in Ibiza.

Active for more than 25years in the music scene, he delivered countless tracks, edits and classy dj mixes. Those recent years, his most noticeable effort was the most acclaimed release "Ritmo Fantasia" compilation he curated; an absolutely brilliant selection of Balearic Spanish Synth​-​Pop, Boogie & House from the golden days 1982​-​1992.

Mori Ra has been with us since the very beginning of MM Discos — perhaps one of the reasons the label was born, grew, and became what it is today. With two records on the MM Discos catalog that sold out in less than a month, it is both a pleasure and a must for us to have him on this compilation. Essential.

The Berlin-based artist Gats is in full creative bloom. His constant exploration of sound makes him a part of various projects, including Die Grillen, Voltags, and Changa Boys, to name a few. With no hesitation or restraint when it comes to drawing influence from both organic and more electronic sounds — and from genres as diverse as post-punk to anti-disco — his music always unfolds at very low revolutions. His contribution to “Socarrat” is evident in the infectious and highly contagious dub track “Astra.”

MM Discos marks its decade-long journey with a heartfelt compilation of over 30 tracks – a tribute to the artists who have defined its past and those who will shape its future. The label's unique identity was forged in the chaotic, all-night sessions at its Erkstrasse 19 basecamp, a freedom that evolved into a philosophy of rejecting genres in favour of pure musical instinct.
