Inspired by the powerful rhythms of Korean traditional percussion, Samulnori blends the spirit of the “four instruments” — Kkwaenggwari (small gong), Jing (large gong), Janggu (hourglass drum), and Buk (barrel drum) — into the modern language of melodic techno.

Each sound represents thunder, wind, rain, and clouds, carrying centuries of ritualistic energy. With this track, I wanted to reinterpret that heritage and deliver it to dancefloors worldwide.

Special thanks to Alex Medina and the Mumbai Records team for opening the door for Korean sounds to resonate across the globe.

Tronik Youth is Neil Parnell, a well-respected DJ, producer and label boss of Nein Records in the UK. Tronik has released numerous singles and around 100 remixes over the last decade, with current singles Psycho Bubble and The Shaker still in many DJs‘ bags and on Beatport charts. He is about to release his second album called Neon Disease. He has also released an album of ambient/drone music under his own name to strong acclaim this year, and his debut album Youth Is Wasted On The Young, featuring Factory Floor’s Gabe Gurnsey on drums, was released in July 2015.

The Nein record label he owns and runs includes esteemed artists such as Rodion, Black Light Smoke, Roe Deers, Daniele Baldelli, DJ Rocca, Cabaret Nocturne, Two Mamarrachos, Emperor Machine, Antoni Miaovvi, Gemini Brothers, Man Power, Heretic and Curses. He was voted in the top 30 artists of 2016 on Beatport’s Indie Dance Genre and his label was on the website top ten labels. Nein was also in Resident Advisors top 100 charted labels for 2016.

Last year he did successful tours in the USA, Mexico and Australia, also performed in numerous festivals including the well-respected Love International Festival in Croatia. He and his Label will be had their own stage at the 2018 Alfresco Festival in the UK and also at Yaga Festival in Lithuania as part of their 5th-anniversary tour.

2018 saw him celebrate Nein’s fifth year with a compilation called Nein To Five, consisting of all-new tracks. His work in the last year includes collaborations and remixes with Tunnel Signs and The Hacker.

Tronik Youth hosts the regular Nein Records flagship radio show on Cowbell, whereby each month the label selects a special guest mix. The show is already fast becoming a popular place for world premieres and a hub for social media frenzy.

Eccentric and unpredictable, this artist remains at the top of his game, signing the best underground talent from Europe to Nein Records, releasing pure quality, evident in all the Tronik Youth productions, mixes and DJ sets.

DARIO KLEIN: SPÆCIAL MIX 128

Recorded live at Mareh Festival in Atins, Brazil, on 2019 new years eve, between 2am and 6am. That party was happening in a tent on a tiny sand island of the shore of Atins only accessible at high tide. Just try to imagine that setting while listening, the sunrise slowly appearing around 5am.

There was a short rain around 5am that caused an interruption in the sound that you can hear in the mix. Also, it was recorded in mono for some reason... but the vibe is there.

For this episode of Sascha's 'Das Zen' series he has teamed up with the other man of the moment 'Herr Wandt' or Niklas as we have endearingly gotten to know him. 

Expect the usual awesome musical selections with plenty of curve-balls, left-side-spinners, kraut-back machine jams and a big dose of zen-not-zen sonic mayhem.

Ed Mahon is a DJ and producer with a strong house music background stretching back to the early 90s. As Cowbell Radio & Alfresco Festival co-founder/resident he is equally at home playing Acid House chuggers, straight-up House, Disco edits or Balearic beats, he is a Festival regular and an in-demand guest mixer. Having just returned from some winter gigs in Tenerife, Ed will be playing at the forthcoming Alfresco parties, his various Northwest residencies, the UK Festival circuit and Ibiza later this year. Production-wise 2019 will see his own recordings and remixes released on labels such as tici taci, NEIN, Emerald & Doreen and $hit Disco, to add to his recent releases on Hot Digits, Paper, Field of Dreams and Eclectics.

Sinchi & Friends 83 comes from Vienna based duo @HanzoandYaman. Featuring two upcoming tracks of their own and a number of unreleased tunes coming from some of their favourite producers around the world. It's a clubby kind of mixtape that you will get you dancing day or night. They told us the inspiration came from their Auntie from another County “Titaporn”, their Dj Gigs and the creative crowd that surrounds them. Plus you can get to know a bit more about them from their interview below.

1) Introduce yourself?

We are Hanzo & Yaman we are based in Vienna and Istanbul. Last year we released our first EP called 'Sirisins' and founded our own label Belly Dance Services for this. Besides that we released an EP on Tom Tom Disco this year, which was a great experience because we love Richard Rossa and his music. Hanzo also has had two vinyl releases on the small Viennese label fortunea records.

2) What have been your highlights from the last 12 months?

Seeing People dance and celebrate to our productions. Moreover meeting other fellow producers from highly interesting labels, kicking off promising projects and digging deeper into the fantastic world of music.

3) What do you have lined up for the coming year?

We are going to release an EP on Playground Records and on our own imprint Belly Dance Services. Also we have some remixes that will come out soon. And of course always working on new and old tracks. For next year we are planning to have more shows in different countries.

Argentinian guy Damian aka Skelesys is a versatile, ever-evolving and particularly cutting-edge artist. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, he has freshly settled in the creative surrounding of Berlin. Besides his passion for painting, electronic music has become the center of his artistic life – so he’s a producer and live act with a strong musical background inspired by Hard Rock, Post-Punk, Synth Pop, Coldwave and science fiction or horror movies. Playing drums in the age of three became his first love. After several years of playing in live bands, producing electronic music has opened a whole new world to him that would change his way of hearing, composing and feeling music.
His sound can be defined as haunted, functional and effective, as a result of a delicate and neat mixture of post-punk, coldwave, italo disco with techno. Marked basses are accompanied by thrilled melodies and subtle grooves, surrounded with a touch of darkness and a stripped down futuristic vibe – not afraid of experimenting and looking deep into the void between the senseless and the rhythmic.

Renegade Radio Camp - SKELESYS - Mix 31-10-2019

Music has the power to heal and ease our minds during times of trouble and it is in that spirit that we welcome Colossio to the Play Pal Series, an artist we've been following for quite some time and whose sound fits perfect with what we like and release.

He's played at the main clubs in Mexico, regular guest at Topaz Club in Monterrey and have done recently his first tour through Europe. Although he's into a wide range of music, his sound, even at lower bpm than on his usual sets, is definitively club oriented with a driving energy that keeps pushing.

With music out on labels such as Ombra International, Calypso, La Dame Noir, Relish or Duro among many others, and new Ep's coming up on Beat Is Murder and Á Table, he's become one of the most prolific artists of last years and definitively one to watch.
